riding with high beams on

Actually I am totally on board with the triangle lighting theory. I'm on a Tracer GT forum and someone modified their handgrip protectors (Is that what they're called?) by adding a row of LEDs which serve as DRLs as well as turn signals. Pic below. I LOVE this idea and have ordered some strip LEDs that do the same thing but fitment may be a problem as the strip is a bit too long for the protector. This guy actually drilled holes in the protector to line up with the LEDs that are stuck on from behind. Anyway...
Also found it interesting that there are quite a few differing opinions on here about having your highs ON during the day. Again, I would not do this if I couldn't adjust the beams downwards, and on my bike, all it takes a twirl of an adjusting knob.

By the way, the LED strip I ordered is dirt cheap so I'm not expexcting much and is too long but for the price I figured why not, maybe I can use them elsewhere, like encircling my helmet ;)......DRL plus turn signals LED strip here: US $3.88 49% OFF|2x Auto LED Turn Signal+Daytime Running Light Strip Dual Mode Headlight Sequential Flow Day Light DRL Universal 12V For The Car|Signal Lamp| - AliExpress

I run High beams 100% of the time. I've never really had anyone complain. A couple cagers have politely pointed it out after I was following them somewhere but I honestly dgaf about annoying other people (my sportster has straight pipes and it's purely for my own smiles)

1. I started after seeing the subject debated on here about 10 years ago and most were for it.
2. I started because I didn't like the "wink" look of one light on my 250 Ninja.
3. I've heard of lots of accidents were the car didn't see the bike. If someone can post a link or story of a motorcyclist being injured or even fined for keeping their high beams on I would be interested.

i'm sure you'll find a story of a Cop who had nothing better to do that day or decided to lump in the charges on someone they pulled over.

But if you don't give a **** to begin with then what's the point in discussing it further lol.

Tell ya what. I'll follow you on a ride sometime with my high beam on. At the end of the ride you won't like me.

I also run high beam when I am riding at night ?...

But my bike didn't have fancy led hid etc.

So far it has prevented me from killing jay walking students and gig drivers from reversing into me here in KW.

Was just trying to add an opposing view to a discussion that was much less one sided when I started riding. Maybe it’s swung this way because modern lights are so much brighter.

my preference is high beams and in 9 riding seasons have seen no negative affects of keeping them on.

I generally ride alone but my dad mentioned that my high beams were on when he first started riding a few years ago. I told him my reasoning. He’s never mentioned it since or ever complained.

if your lights were bothering me I would let you pass. same as if a truck or Acura is blinding me while driving a car.

My view is that I’d rather annoy a car then have them say that I appeared out of nowhere after they hit me.

I ride bare bones Harley’s so obviously looks are a priority. Not interested in adding accessory lights.

I suppose it could only be others seeing the negative affects ?‍♂️ but you do you

so to re-iterate:

engine oil = race gas = high beams?

I'm not judging you, i just don't agree.

Number one killer of bikers is cars turning left in front of them. But officer....i didn't see him.

But maybe they will hear the loud pipes?
