Riding to work office

I leave a change of clothes at work along with a pair of shoes; business casual most of the time.

There is parking on front between bay and yonge. Enter from yonge due to construction.

I wear a suit daily for my job. I have my own office so I keep a few suits in there and try to plan the day before by leaving it there. Then in just wear my dress pants riding.

ok now the second question is where do you park? I am working close to front and york and there isn't any parking within reasonable distance. 15-20min walk seems to be the closest

Sure there is!

Lombard St, Toronto St, Temperance St, Pearl St, Simcoe St and there was Front St at Bay, though I'm not sure if that is still available with all of the construction in front of Union?

I work downtown, but I don't have to wear a suit. Dress pants + Dress pants + dress shoes. I bring 'em all in my backpack and change at work.

I wear suit and tie 4 days a week and business casual the 5th. I commute 80 km each way and do so every day from some time in March until some time in November or December. (snow on the roads is the main thing that gets me to drive.). The only time this year since March that I drove was when I had to pickup people at the Airport (two or three times.)

I have an Aerostich Roadcrafter two piece riding suit. The Roadcrafter is expensive but has lasted much better than the crap I had previously so ends up being cheaper in the long run. This is designed to go over street clothes. It is goretex so is pretty waterproof and breathes well. In cold weather I'll put layers (soft shell or heated gear) under it. In warmer weather I'll leave my work suit jacket in my topcase. In hot weather I can generally ride into work wearing my work suit pants with the jacket in the topcase, in the afternoon I might change into shorts and T-shirt and wear them under the riding suit. In that case my dress suit goes in the topcase. I leave a pair of shoes at work altough a few time I had to go to events with suit and tie I'll bring some shoes to the even if in the top case.

I am fortunate that I have parking at work.

I always did dress clothes under textile overpants and jacket. I found my collars got a bit dirtier from riding though.

I wore proper motorcycle boots and left a set of loafers at work. Worked well enough for me though changing out of the overpants was always a bit of a pain. Worth it to get the riding time in.

Last time I worked out of an office, I was fortunate enough to be able to stash a set of clothes over there. Since it was in the mineral exploration sector, the clothes were bummy Wranglers, a sweater that had more material from mending than from original production and a pair of skate shoes on their last legs... Nowadays I work in my underwear and it ain't pretty

Just get a one-piece rainsuit or overalls and zip it over your suit. As for parking, no matter what you do you're better off than car drivers. Make sure you chain your bike to something wherever you park because the tow truck bandits are always looking take it to Cherry street.

When I worked close to yong/bloor I took business shirts with me each day and changed at the gym at work. Had a shower there too. Worked really well. I dont fancy riding downtown though to bay st area. I never use a backpack. Tail bag for the win or bag bungy down.

I ride in work pants and loafers lol however, I live 10min away so squidding a couple days per week doesn't bother me much for that reason. I always wear a jacket gloves etc. I don't wear a suit jacket so don't need to worry about that.

Not a downtowner, so not familiar with the Cherry St reference. Legally parked bikes being impounded?

That's just a silly idea, for one a suit is supposed to be kept clean, how are you gonna keep it clean from road dirt and debris from hitting your trousers? Also what happens if it rains while you ride? Secondly, it is not socially acceptable in Toronto, people see bike as a toy, not a proper mode of transport for going to work. But I guess this will mostly depend on what kind of company you work for. But for me, just not worth the hassle, I am also afraid bike gets stolen so is no-no for me. Would rather take TTC to save money if feasible.
