Oh ya genius, they jacked the rates for everyone because of my claim. Iv been paying insurance for 16 year, have multiple cars, bikes, house, life....... im pretty sure they are still winning. Im a mechanic and buy things that need work and fix them. If you have no idea what the **** your talking about just keep your mouth closed. Some people are so stupid it amazes me.

If everyone made a claim and screwed the insurance company left, right and centre. Don't you think that this will affect our rates? Thank God we don't live in the same city. On a side note, if you buy beat up junk and fix them, then good for you. You can justify a cool $4600 profit in whichever way you prefer. ;)

No. Compare his payout versus someone stuck in critical care or fraud incidents; that's why our rates are jacked up.

But This is Max Power's second season riding, he's got to share all the knowledge he learned last season. Helpful stuff in every thread he posts in.
Btw, op also drives a Vantage. Worried about cost... Lol

What does my riding experience have to do with anything? If what I'm saying is BS, call me out on it and if you're correct then I will be glad to apologize. :p

True.

So when you go down and the insurance company calls you with an offer which is higher than you had expected make sure that you tell them that and give them back the extra money. It's the right thing to do......right?? LOL
He's owed compensation for the time, effort, and money he put into fixing that bike. That's what indemnity means.

You want to see why your premiums are going up.....look at the younge st video.

You better call the insurance company and tell them they dont know what they are doing! U dumbass, they assess the payout and give you a price. This is the reason you pay insurance. Also iv payed well over $108,000 to insurance over my lifetime, they payed back $8600. Where is the loss there?

Do you belive people who buy/fix/flip houses and make 40k shouldnt get the money?

When a guy drops a bike but doesnt make a claim because his rates will go, is that fair to him even though he has insurance?

I pay for protection and used it once in my life, they still win.

You pay for policieng, if someone brok into your house would you call them? If everyone who was a victim called the police they would have to hire more and raise our taxs, are those people wrong for using the service they pay for.

Again you have no idea what your talking about. everytime you post, you just look stupider.

So do yourself a favour and shhhhhhhhhhhhh

The fact that you had to actually type all of that out and he'll still probably argue is making me shake my head.

Zeniceguy is exactly that. For once something went in his favor with insurance. Good for him. I came out on top of my first ever claim last year too. I've been an insured driver since 1994. Does that make your premiums go up too?

Kid would have to give you a lot of money to balance out the amount you spend on raising him...... :)

Make kids and they give you money after you retire.

I don't get the argument here. Max, you're arguing with zenice that he put in a claim and made more than he expected. I don't see anything fraudulent there. It's not like he told the deer to run across the street so he can put in a claim. lol
Your thinking is severely flawed here.

I thought it was a fair question as well. We've got to be in one of the crappiest places on Earth for motorcycle ownership.

I beg to differ, 170 track days, five tracks within a four hour drive. Pennsylvania is 3 hours away, Muskoka area is still enjoyable to ride and only 90 minutes away. The off season helps the bank account recover

I bought a $900 bike because that's what I could afford at the time, and I've had such a good time on it, so yes, it's totally worth it to me. I pay $700 a year in insurance because I'll be 32 this year and have no tickets in the last 5 years. I wouldn't give up motorcycling for anything.... other than my wife. If I had to choose, she'd win... but she's awesome and supports my riding, despite working at a hospital and seeing all the bad things that happen.

The feeling of freedom, the calmness of the open road, and the stress relief it brings far outweigh the potential risks.

See, you get it.

My bro lives in the Laurentians (QC) and is 2 minutes away from lots of decent twisty/hilly roads.

GTA is loltastically flat and straight.

That's the thing. We get charged insurance like we all stunt in a packed playground at 200 km. I would love to live around mountains so I could go for a good ride everyday. **** am I paying for? Those 2 turns on britania and 3 on appleby?

Doesn't the OP own a Maserati too?
Ducati + Maserati +complaining about costs= Does not compute

Sent from my tablet using my paws

Maybe he gets to drive a Maserati because he is smart with his money and plugs bottomless money pits.

BTW OP, you should see how expensive horses and bulls ;) are.

Riding is always worth it! The moment you do not like it is when you should stop! This will be the first season that i am not riding and its strictly financial for me. I have my 2 kids starting to do MX racing, so i bought them both bikes and gear and motorcycle club memberships... all that good stuff on top of parts here and there.
So I sold the bike and and cancelled the insurance, and once they are settled in then I will buy one again. if you truly LOVE riding, even if you take time off, you will ALWAYS come back at some point, and for some thats means at different times in there lives!

I may not be on the bike, but I am still in the community. Remember, it is a gigantic toy and luxury, so if cost is a factor for you, step back and see whats important.

How is his insurance in QC? That province/insurance has even more of a hard on for bikes than Ontario.
