Riding in the rain

Yea, I know what you mean but street tracks are different. What I meant is, that its harder to hydroplane smaller tires because of the reduced surface area.
Sounds logical, but a larger bike is also heavier

I still haven't slided/locked up my brakes/low or high sided yet, even in the rain. How do you guys know the limits of your bike like lean angle from push steering, and the speed going into corners, without say the bad things happening?
I tend to drag my rear brake. The rear tire allows more skidding before low siding. This gives a good idea of traction limit

Experience. There is feed back you bike is giving you if you know what you are feeling. Just takes experience to know what you are feeling is x or y.

I bought a pair of those yellow pants they have in Canadian Tire for rain gear. Do I need the jacket part? How will it affect riding?

I hope you don't expect them to last long... if you are planning on riding in the rain spend the money and get a proper rain suit.

One thing I noticed is that when getting up to speed... rain can feel like bullets

Watch out for really impatient drivers. I got cut off on Friday during a down pour because the cager wanted to pass me and get into the left turn lane from the right lane. Forced me to grab my brakes cause I didn't want to end up in his trunk. I ended up lowsiding the bike. Thankfully the cager behind was nice enough not to run me over and put her four ways on. She also blocked traffic so I could pick my bike up and get the hell out of the way. As for the dude who cut me off... Yeah that A-hole just looked at me and took off when I got up. Real classy. Damage was minimal. Just take your time and ride in the right lane and be as visible as possible.

Had the supercorsas break loose for the first time on Saturday when I got caught in a rain shower. Pretty predictable considering the extreme lack of tread on those things.

Lol yup, switched to Pirelli Angel STs on my Daytona, haven't looked back

Rain-X on the visor is a good idea. I bring a little bottle of it if I'm doing a multi-day route.

I'm cheap. I use a little car wax and make sure it buffs clean. Same effect.
Just make sure it's buffed clear else you'll just see haze

Does Rain-X pose any health risks?

And no I don't usually plan to ride in rain. But better be prepared then get caught with pants down!

Be sure you only put the Rain-X on the outside of the visor. I haven't tried, but I suspect it might make the inside fog up more easily. Anti-fog treatment on the inside is another good idea for riding in the rain.

Last night a cager decided to make a turn, he saw me but instead of waiting for the lane to be clear, he decided my life wasn't worth the time.

Rain-x said do not use on plastics

MY helmet's booklet said not to treat the lens with anything as well (Bell EVO). I use rain-x on my headlights (car) which are technically plastic all the time. It just states to test it before use just incase. (Rain X wax).
