Riding boots with 'feel'

The only pair I've had without "feel", were Motocross boots. Stiff as all getout. I've also had some that I wouldn't want to walk around in. Some are ok for walking, but have less protection. I'm still searching for the perfect boots. I might try walking in the Daytonas and see how they do.

I have the smx6-v2

I got them from fortnine I believe

for example on the street ride yesterday, I came to a stop at a red light, tall guy on a tall bike, on a normal shoe,
if there is gravel or something the bottom of the shoe would have enough give that it would sort of deform to the shape of the little rock and grip...on this boot it just slips (not a fun feeling on a big ADV bike)

I'm picking up what you're putting down. Because they have such a flat/smooth sole, they are definitely slippy on gravel/sand so I just try to be extra careful where I put my foot down. A boot with a chunkier sole and treads might note fit as well under the shifter and then give less feedback from the pegs.

Depending on the bike, I would steer clear of dual sport/mx boots because they have way less ankle mobility and are designed for a more upright/standing postion.

Sounds like you want a more touring style boot then. Like Amazon, I had the SMX-Plus (wearing them in my profile pic actually) and they are excellent. I also wear the shorty version of the SMX6 but yes they’re because they’re a sport boot. Most sport type boots are going to have a stiff sole so they don’t curl around the normally small sport rear sets.
You will have to give up some ankle protection to gain some feel and find a happy median there.

Daytona are still the best imho, but i bought these last summer after finding leaks in my Gaernes. Bought at Sturgess for $500. Sidi Canyon Gore. Excellent all day comfort. Super waterproof.

Hey, don't fool around. These are serious race sandals for "Motor Bikers"
These are only for the pro's...

I bought recently a pair of these.

DAINESE AXIAL D1 BOOTS

Love `em. Except, where I broke my ankle, slightly swollen.
So For 3-4 days put a 20 lb dumbbell weight stuffed around where the ankle support is stiff. Still working on it. Slowly but with patience.
