Riding and weather; who mixes both?

Riding in weather

If it's *sheeting* rain, I'll wait it out just because it's impossible to see anything like that. Other than that, I'll ride. This year I keep my rain gear packed in a tank bag, if I think it *might* rain I just throw it on the bike and if it turns out I need it then it's handy.

i'm pretty well fair weather, but i'll pack rain gear for long trips. I don't mind getting a little wet coming home from work or a quick tour, but if i'm going to get wet on the way to somewhere I'll either pass or take gear.

Thanks for all the great posts guys and gals.
Turns out a lot more of us than I thought aren't afraid of getting wet while riding.

I agree with the general concenssus: I won't go ride in the rain with no destination, but if I have to go/be somewhere, then the rain gear gets put to use.

I also have one car, plus the bike. But living with the gf, that means I have no car and a motorcycle... Just really expensive insurance and gas lol. So I am out as long as there is no snow on the ground pretty much.

I tend to ride most of the time; rain or shine. Prefer the shine though. Got caught in that nasty weather in Burlington last Thursday. Had my rain gear, but no time to put it on. C'est la vie.

That sucker was motoring - I've got caught out with gear and not on too...worst was having the gear on and not done up properly and coming down so hard that no way to pull off safely......
I was ****** at myself and very very wet.

bah....what's a little snow....

violence ensues.....

21 and still banging out there.

I ride in pretty much any weather except when there is snow on the road (and even then sometimes.) I used to carry rain gear (Frogg Toggs) but now have a Riding Suit that is waterproof so no longer wear specific rain gear. (I have rain overgloves that I can put on over my normal gloves.)

I'm only going riding if it's going to be fun. Last I checked no one was raving about street riding in the rain. Wet slicks is another story though. mmm super gummy rubber...
