Rider with back home experience and don't need to wait for 18 months for M but having some challenges

Well, yes.....certainly retroactively to the moment before any recent major claims, that's for sure.

The insurance will be worth the paper it's printed on, and that's about it.

Thing is....people renting from outfits like this running out of some guys driveway probably often don't understand the risks.
I cancelled a policy to months before. I just had to tell them in writing that the vehicle hadn't been on the road during that time. Surprised the hell out of me when that was allowed (it was actually suggested by ins company).

In the case of kijiji rentals, insurance company could probably do a little research and cancel back to the oldest ad they can come up with. Just in case somebody else pops up that claims they previously hurt themselves (or were hurt by the bike).

It is an insurance problem. I wanted to start a business like this, the lowest price I could get from a commercial broker was >$10K a year/bike for a 250 (and I had to do 8 bikes to get that price).

How many working months in the frozen north to pay just for the insurance?

More than all of them? What would people pay to rent a bike for the weekend? $250? $500? You probably don't get many weekday rentals. If you rent out every weekend in May through September, that gets you $5,000 to $10,000 per bike gross. That still hasn't covered insurance, the capital cost of the bike, maintenance, business expenses or profit. You will get some weekday rentals and some before may and after september, but you will still have trouble getting enough gross income for it to be viable (I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't even cover insurance and you were basically paying for people to ride your bikes).

TP is going to be worthless soon once the shelves are overflowing with it again and everyone that hoarded it won't need to buy any for years.

Agree with this too.
There are many people in the same situation as yourself and they will often find that taking an M1 exit course will also get them an insurance reduction equal to the price of the course itself. Lastly, there is the added benefit of taking some instruction that will help to tighten your skills. Because you already have the basic skills and technique of how to ride a bike, you will hopefully lose some bad habits or gain some other observational skills which will still help to make taking the course more worthwhile.

or

go buy a cheap bike and don't take the course.
I have purchased bike already but no one would insure me. I want to go for M2 exit ( give test on school & get M if I pass).I have alredy called all of the schools & no one will rent out bike. As I don't have insruance so I can't use mine

Ladie & Gentelmen
Thankyou for all the suggestions
I have already purchased my bike
My current company (Desjardin) told me they can't insure my if I don't have trainning from school.

Is there a way for me to get Temporary insurance for 1/2 days & then I can get my full insurance with my current provider for 120/month

Well winner of longest thread title :ROFLMAO:

How much experience from where?
You have been given the best advice already go for the M1 exit get the certificate, insurance want to you to have this.
7 years of experience riding honda 125cc. I bought yamaha r3 but i can't get insurance.

"I have cleared my M1 & due to my back home experience, I can directly appear on M without having to wait through 22 months."
I don't understand this part.
Anyway, if OP's the motorcycle license doesn't formally/officially transfer to Canada, all the experience doesn't mean anything.
My wife has a Japanese motorcycle license but it doesn't mean anything to Service Ontario or the Insurance
It means when i went to Drive test & passed my M1 i showed my driving license back home along with a letter from embassy which states that i have 7 years of experience riding a bike. So basically after you clear M2 normally you would have to wait for 18 months to appear for M driving test. For insurance motorcycle license/expereicne back home doesn't mean anything but drive test count your experience. In my case, I don't have to wait for 18 months & can appear on M exam right away given I have a motorcycle & insurance. I can buy a motorcycle but no one will give me insurace. Even if I can get insruance for 2 days, i'll get it appear in M2 exit course & BAM.

Everybody *can* get insurance in Ontario, by law.

Call a broker and specifically ask for a quote through facility.

The question will be at that point....whether or not you find the resulting price palatable.

you may as well fork out the 400 and take a proper m1 course - your back home experience may not be sufficient for keeping you safe around our drivers. And for the cost and weekend, that will solve your inability to get proper insurance for your own bike.

Seems like a simple solution.
