I wish the rider all the best. I may even see you at some point as I am a transport medic and typically do calls between many hospitals and rehab centers. Gws
Hey all. I just wanted to say thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I'm doing MUCH better now. I'm home and recovering nicely. I got my left arm cast off and am working on my wrist. My right eye still stares off to the right but we be realigned again when the nerve regrows that was crushed. I suffered quite a bit of brain swelling but things are looking good. I don't remember the accident or even getting on the DVP prior to it and I don't remember much of the first week in the hospital. I should be able to start putting weight on my right leg and taking steps on July 19th. I'm so looking forward to that! My left leg was also broken. The *** who hit me was drunk and speeding and I did NOT run a red. I have not and will not be charged with anything. He has been charged with multiple things. I hope he never gets his license back.
And I will be riding again next season without a doubt. Someone else's irresponsibility and stupidity won't stop me from doing what I love! I needed to upgrade anyway. I should have a cbr600rr by next season. Can't wait!
Yeah, I was very lucky. The accident severed the artery in my leg and I had four minutes before I bled out. I was lucky the off duty EMS was at the lights when it happened otherwise I wouldn't be here. And I didn't lose any body parts! I'm pretty shocked I didn't lose my leg.
You definitely took a beating girl...but the fact you were walking around (ok, so you were standing around on one leg - same diff ?) last Thursday is a great thing! It's awesome that you're pumped about getting back on a bike. Keep taking care of yourself and heal well
