Rider fights off motorcycle-jacking felon on the run from cops

Where was he planning to go, Mexico?
He clearly not in right mind thinking he wil out run the police cars/helicopter in a pickup truck...lol

Damn - I probably would've gotten my bike stolen... Then again I'm usually in-gear with the clutch pulled in and watching my mirror when at stop lights if no one is behind me so he would've had to chase me lol

wtf did Kawi give him a bike for?? He wasn't even riding one.

PR. Everyone knows Kwak did the guy a solid and may even want one. The fact that his original ride wasn't even a Kwak makes it even more solid-er.

At least that's probably what they thought. :)

paying it forward
good public image and free advertising

after doing 100k km on my 250 I am writing a letter to my salesman who still sells them at Snow City and to Kawi as well telling them what a great bike its been, less than 6000km to go... Hopefully the sons a ******* at least give me a few freebies or a gift certificate for parts or something. I'd be happy with just a trackday tent but a new 636 would be great!!

As others have said, the cost of the bike they gave to the guy barely puts a dent in their marketing/advertising budget in exchange for a good image.

you sound mad bro

Kinda...if that was me the dude would have caught a real *** whooping and I'd be getting a 636 in return. I don't know what the **** the reporters meant by "his military training" because I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. That dude just did what any man with at least half a set of balls would have done.

Gotta love this comment:

"what was he a Navy Seal? lol.. I saw pushing, shoving probably name calling.. if anything, thats airforce training. lol Also, Kawasaki trying to replace a GSXR? realy.. nice try on PR. But anyone that owns a GSXR isnt going to like a Kawasaki."

If you dropped your ninjette and 'whooped the guy, he wouldn't have run over the bike with his pickup. Then the cops would somehow charge you too. The most you would get from Kawi then would be replacement 250 fairings. The rider didn't go MMA on the fool, but he does have a brand new SS. Rolling 100k on the 250 should be worth something though, even if just a hat and certificate. It's basically free reliability advertising.

You gotta win to be a champion hence why I wrote WINNERS.

You are right, Zuki owners won't like the Kawi, too much power and technology for them to handle right now.
Enjoy your Zuki with the high tech slip on :D
It could be worse, you could be riding a Honduh

cops were running up on this guy guns drawn, I think they'd really appreciate if you laid him out especially after you got attacked, also remember that its in America, you have more rights in regards to use of force.

I actually spoke to my sales guy at the last show when he asked me about new bike plans and he's the one who suggested I put together a little story and email him or directly to head office. I just laughed and replied I'd need a book for them all but I'd see what I could come up with.
This year just happens to be the 30th anniversary since the bike was launched mainstream and in all that time other than cosmetics most changes were just minor. On top of that my bike has been though so much and its still in better shape than majority of other ones out there, I've never seen anyone with a newgen even close to as high mileage as mine that still runs and looks good.
