Rider Down Steeles 6 minutes from Kahuna Powersports

update

Just an update from my cousin. He is still in the induced coma (they don't want to wake him yet, waiting for swelling of the brain to go down). There is evidence of several microinfarcts in his frontal lobe. They don't know if they are old or new (from the accident) as apparently he had head trauma as a child. Long story short, they have to wait until they can wake him up to see if there is any paralysis or loss/alteration of brain function.

Any updates? I work sort of near Kahuna, and have visited on my lunch breaks. It's a pretty busy area during the day, there are lots of shops and respective driveways to be wary of. On top of that there are quite a few bus stops, and the road is pretty tight without much room for maneuvering.

GWS

hoping for a full recovery for the rider.

thanks for the updates, palmpalm

Okay, spoke with my cousin and the victim. Apparently I am now being told that he was proceeding through a green light when someone turned left in front of him and he slammed into the side of the vehicle. I understand that he has frontal lobe damage and is no longer himself. He was wearing a Shoei helmet, white with blue. This conflicts with what I was told at the time but that's the story I have been given.
