Rider down on O'Connor Drive

Get well soon Rider

Looking down for a second eh? = Looking at Cell Phone.

hey that was me I'm thinking
mortimer ave and broadview I'm alive anyway
broken traverse process on my L2-L3 vertebrae 8 hours in the hospital but I'm home now out for 6 weeks at least according to the doc

I got rear ended just as i was coming to a stop right before i would normally check my mirrors. The driver told the police he looked down for a sec looked back up to see traffic stopped and was traveling at aprox 40kph

glad to hear you survived to tell about it.

Oh boy, I hope you get well soon and wish you a speedy recovery. Were you wearing a padded jacket that protects your spine or a back protector?

hey ya just trying to take it easy these days I was wearing gear and it probably helped
I'm down with dads against texting lol
not sure how soon ill be ridding again thats a big fight with the wife I'm not ready to have (she wants both my bike sold and gone in the next 6 weeks)
never mind I'm not sure how i would deal with coming to a stop in traffic next time filter to the car in front maybe that way i know they are stopped?
who knows a lot has been going through my mind about this and the helplessness of not having seen it coming and there for not being able to do anything to change the out come.
thank you all for the well wishes you guys are the only ones who have not seen fit to make the decision for me about my riding future (guess its riders vs non riders lol)

Getting hit by a a car coming at you at 40km. Damn.

What's the best way to prevent this? Giant flags and strobe lights?

My cruiser is really loud. I'm hoping that might help me a bit if this situation arises. I'm assuming there are a lot of people on this forum who have gotten a bump from behind.

driver was probably looking down to text!

anyone wana start
daddys against testing drivers?

its going to be a way bigger problem then drinking and driving.

DADD.....Dad's Against Data Driver's
It is a better spectrum and covers email too
:D

strobes, flags, tapping/flashing brakes, or brake light modulators in my humble experience don't do a dam thing when the driver isn't looking.
ya i think DADD has better coverage for sure

my new sig i think
I feel like i was hit by a truck
but it was just a car.....
I'm such a pussy

Getting hit by anything is no fun and really sticks a fear of anything asphalt in you. It took a couple weeks before I could drive again after I got hit, and I was uninjured.

gsw. could have been alot worse.good thing you didnt get pinned between him and car in front, or underneath his car.hope to see you up and riding soon.tell the wife,we have all had wives, or dates, that are train wrecks, we still hop on the next 1.my 2cents.

That sounds painful, but it could have been worse. I hope that they throw the book at the driver. GWS and good luck with the bike.
