Just drove by the accident scene. I'm in shock and feeling kind of sick right now. I was going westbound on the gardiner around park lawn area when i see a bike lying on its side in the east bound lanes, black sport bike. Then I see a car pulled over in the eastbound lane just further up with light damage on the side. Then I see brake lights all in front of me and as traffic slowly crawled past there must have been 5 or 6 cars pulled off to the side and then i see the body. Lifeless on the pavement, open neck injury, young guy. Jesus. As I continue down the road must have been 8-900 meters or more i almost run over an object that i believe was a helment. I can only assume the guy on the road was the rider of the bike in the eastbound lane. I can't even imagine what happened here.

Thoughts and prayers to him and his family. Stay safe everyone.

sounds bad. can't find anything on the online news about it yet, though.

EDIT: just heard it on the news. the rider didn't make it.

Rest in peace, rider.

Yah I just had to take the detour off the Gardiner to go around it about 25mins ago saw everyone walking around on the highway it looks like the reconstruction team are there taking pictures. Just after I pass it on parklawn a SS flies by on the other side going east doing a stand up wheelie right towards the cop line up on the highway. Probably not a good idea.

Prayers to his family

Watching the story right now. ******** on the TV were more concerned about the traffic it will cause as opposed to the condition of the rider. Fml. Rest in peace rider.

Very tragic, according to reports rider crashed into a barrier then was thrown onto westbound lanes and hit by at least one car.
RIP rider

Update and Another two riders down:

TheStar.com

An overnight fatal motorcycle crash has closed a portion of the Gardiner Expressway both ways near the Humber River during the Friday morning rush hour.

Police have shutdown eastbound traffic at S. Kingsway and westbound traffic at Lakeshore Blvd. after a motorcyclist in his 30s died early this morning following a series of road mishaps.

The motorcyclist was seen speeding and decelerating unusually while riding eastbound on the expressway, west of the Humber River, just before 1 a.m., police said.

The last time the motorcyclist accelerated beyond the speed limit, police said he lost control and struck the concrete barrier. He got ejected from his motorbike and landed on the westbound lanes, where he was struck by a passing car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Traffic Services reconstruction team is investigating.

It has been a bad several days for motorcycle collisions in the city.

Just a few hours before the fatal crash, another motorcyclist was rushed to a trauma centre following an accident near Church and Richmond Sts.

The 46-year-old motorcyclist collided with a blue Pontiac van around 11 p.m., police said.

Emergency Medical Services confirmed he suffered serious injuries.
Earlier this week, a 24-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck at Glengrove and Marlee Aves.

My wife drove by the scene on the way home from the Madonna concert. It was fairly soon after the accident happened and only police were on site. She (unfortunately) got a look at the scene, and needless to say it was a pretty gruesome sight. She was quite shaken up by it.

RIP rider.

Rip rider.
And my best to the poor soul that hit him on the other side of the barrier.
We seem to forget the trauma cause to the cager that killed the rider, being a part of something like that can be life altering.

RIP rider, and like boooya said, also hope the cage driver pulls through this (mentally) as well, as there was nothing he could have likely done at all.
