Ride today around halton etc

I need to deliver a lappie to Guelph some time today if you want to use that as a kick off.
What about the G4??

What time is this going down? I have the day off as well.

I am aware of that.
I know Adam and just wanted to catch his attention if he's seeing this.....he has most weekdays available and I have to go right by him to get to my client in Guelph.

Just closing up the restaurant now and heading home. Thinking of heading out for a ride sometime after 6pm tonight.

Had a gorgeous day - over 350k on the back roads north of Belfountain. Cruised up to Flesherton and then up Beaver Valley Road a bit past Eugenie Falls,
cool road running over the horizon to Georgian Bay

anyone riding up that way ( about 8 km east of Arthur on 9 ) is welcome to drop in - watch or get a demo ride.
A nap and lots of water revived me and nice ride back down Trafalgar.

Sweet night for a ride.
We should have the Scalas in on Tuesday.

Had a bit of a startle coming out of the gas station at Flesherton - there is an abrupt little dip just east on 4 and I was accelerating and came over the crest and a little old compact was sitting there waiting to turn left at the bottom of the dip. :confused1:
Luckily little car was hugging the centre line waiting to go left.....still going over it in my head whether I actually could have hauled down 800 lb of me and bike even with the ABS full on.
As it was, I sneaked by the right with a bit of adrenalin rush.

This was a case of I was looking further down an apparently empty road I was accelerating on, and got completely caught by a stopped vehicle that was hidden in a dip

think I'll go out early tomorrow as afternoon looks like rain.

Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Toronto

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Toronto briefly Sunday afternoon.

"One particular thunderstorm cluster is now moving, at this moment, southeast at 100 kilometres per hour and producing also very strong gusts, close to 90 km/h," said meteorologist Sarah Wong during the storm.

That cluster was right over Toronto, with torrential rain drenching the city. Twenty to 40 millimetres rain fell in no more than 15 minutes, Wong said.

The warning was downgraded to a watch shortly after 3:20 p.m.

Much of southern Ontario continues to be under a severe thunderstorm watch, Wong said.

The alert warns of conditions that could lead to severe storms Sunday afternoon and evening.

Wind gusts of up to 90 km/h, hail of up to 2 centimetres in diameter, and heavy downpours are likely in severe thunderstorms, the agency says. Tornadoes are also possible.

Blew through Guelph while I was at Planet Bean - then the sun came out - wet roads but lovely air for a lazy ride home on the back roads.

Was sure dark ahead of me tho....anyone caught?

Saw a largish group of riders at the Ice House - many at the Shed today

Yeah, got caught. Was visiting a client 2 kliks form my shop, saw the sky darken, said gotta go. Didn't get halfway before it dumped. This was near Laird & Eglinton.

Hah I think we started on the same bike -Allstate special sold by Sears made by Puch. Damn that thing blow smoke.

That storm was on an odd track - thought stuff was moving mainly east with a little south in it so when I left Belfountain I could see it to my right all along 24 - very intense.

Then got into Planet Bean and 5 minutes in the wind came up big time and it dumped hard.
That's the one I followed heading back to Mississauga and it was in TO when I pulled in home.
Vicious little black bear.

That cell was cutting corners....

Tis an Allstate Compact. Manual on one page sez put the clip in the needle's 3rd groove from the top. If I do this it will blow lotza smoke, turn the plug black, and it don't go too fast even downhill with a hurricane on yur tail. Manual on another page sez 2nd groove which doesn't blow too much smoke, plug is tan, goes 38-40 mph on a flat run with no wind, and was bouncing the needle between 45-50 the other day down Leslie. Cost ~ $60/month to run (insc, fuel, oil).

Scary windy. First time riding where I thought I was going to get blown off the road. Me & scootcycle weigh ~ 310 lb.

damn - you're still running it.....hey post up some pics for my personal bike history - not a lot on line.
Too cool.....

I recall being hunched over that thing trying to get from St. Catharines to Fort Erie without staying over night half way home ;)

Yeah, there' snot much on line. :) Not wanting to 'jack this thread any further, where would you want me to put pics ... off site, or another thread?

That's about the same distance as here to my sister's place in Newmarket. Takes about an hour & 10/15 going up Warden (40 min by cage up 404). Done that trip 4-5 times.
