RevZilla & Cycle Gear FAQ

Did Cycle Gear acquire RevZilla?
No. The RevZilla founders and J.W. Childs formed a new, yet-to-be-named holding company to collectively own both businesses as sister companies, operating separately.

Then why does every news article state that Cycle Gear acquired RevZilla?
All of this started because of one brief article that was based upon incorrect information. The story then snowballed through the media as other outlets cited the story, repeating and enlarging on the errors.

Why did you not comment publicly sooner if the information published was incorrect?
We were under a non-disclosure agreement while in the final stages of negotiations. We commented as quickly as we could, given the circumstances. It was hard to sit on the sidelines, but amazing to see all the love for the ZLA.

Really wish Revzilla would move into Canada. I have purchased 2 items from them in the past week, had it shipped to my sisters in PA and my parents will bring it back up with them when they return from visiting her over Easter. Free shipping, items were delivered next day! Great selection and their customer support (at least chat support) have been incredibly helpful and knowledgable. Did not feel like they were reading from any scripts and took the time to look into some of my obscure questions. Revzilla does ship to Canada, but it is not free and I doubt it will be as fast.

I'm just looking at gloves and comparing prices. Motostorm.it has some great prices on clearance stuff. One catch...for a single item shipping is pricey but collectively it's pretty good (flat rate) and prices are way way cheaper than Revzilla, especially from the outlet.

It's usually pretty fast. However the UPS import fees kill the deal.

I bought some boots for $120 USD off Revzilla, Shipping was $30, but then UPS charged an additional $57 for the import fee. Not Revzilla's fault but it makes it not worth buying from them unless you absolutely can't find the item you're buying in Canada and really have to have it.

That is why I avoid those US stores. A few years back I purchased some LED fog lights from twisted throttle.CA and when it arrived I was no so pleasantly surprised to find the extra fees. I assumed because I was ordering from a .ca store I would avoid that. I was going to order something from Revzilla last year, but the fees and shipping add up removing the deal as you said. This time around it works out as my parents are down in PA visiting my sister so I shipped a helmet with the bluetooth com unit there. Shipped for free and arrived next day. They will bring it back, and worst case if it is no good I will pay to return for a refund. At least this way I am only paying shipping one way.

I would assume the market is just to small to keep inventory north of the border.

UPS is by far the worst. If you can get USPS it is much more reasonable.

In the past Revzilla marked lower prices on my purchases.
I will avoid UPS or FEDEX if I can. USPS is fine.

UPS and FEDEX include brokerage fees on some faster shipping options. It might save time and money to pay for the faster shipping.

US mailbox. Just pay tax over the boarder
