Reviews On Michelin Pilot Powers & Roads

Street tires are usually not triangulated as much as race tires and I never experienced this issue you describe with Pures. There could be other variables in play.

No they're not as triangulated, but track and street are vastly different. I experienced problems with the Pures on both of my street bikes, as did every friend I had that tried them, when they were cheap for a while. My friend's 954 was almost unridable on them, seriously. He handed the key to another friend of mine and came back saying that there was something badly wrong with the bike... affected worse than my Suzuki. I also had the bike weave out of corners at full throttle because apparently the lightweight fiber construction of the tire means it would squirm badly under 200hp... people ran into this on the track, too. All I know is that it was damned unsettling coming out of a corner in 4th. The only bike that didn't seem so bad with them was my buddy's 2010 R1, but he's 280lbs and rides bolt upright (and still manages to be quick when he wants to be). Screw that tire.

I really liked the Michelin Ones at Shannonville, and the lightweight tire idea of the Pures sold me on them... wish I'd never bought them... luckily my buddy with the R1 bought the spare set I bought when they were on sale. They wouldn't do the decent thing and wear out quickly, either. :(

So I am making my decision and I will be ordering the Dunlop Sportmax Q2. I ride 100%on the street and would like to have that feeling of confidence while in turns just like when I had my old Ninja 250R. Plus the Dunlops have a better price compared to the Pilot Power 2ct and Road 2.

Thanks everyone for your input

You're welcome. Now head over to Competition Cycle and get Dave to throw a pair on your bike (shameless plug for Dave as he's good people).

Good choice. I truly believe anyone who says the 2ct's are good has never ridden on a set of Q2's. Warning you now your friends will hate how much sand/gravel they pic up and fling at them when their following behind!

I just bought PR3's, the price difference between those and Q2's was $15. I'm hoping I didn't make a bad choice, time will tell I guess :p

Do you know how much they charge to intstall the tires only? My older brother is going to be help me out taking the wheels off the bike. Its a big plus too if they are located close.

Ive been thinking of ordering the tires from petes. I have delt with them and really happy with their prices and quick shipping. I wouldnt mind purchasing the tires from Competition Cycleif they can give me a great deal with the tires and install

I wish I could of tried the rosso's that the bike has on already but unfortunately the rear is getting too close to the wear bar and its still gotta go through safety. Anyone know if Ted is around to do safeties at home? He came to my place 2 yrs back when he safetied my 250
