The Bishops in Ontario have as much control over the math curriculum as they do with sex ed. The individual teachers read the curriculum and apply it. You'll have some who do it to the letter and some who'll insert their own beliefs. That is no different from any other teacher in any subject in the public board or otherwise. The article you quoted is to allay the fears of their constituents (and by that I mean Catholics). The Catholic lens you refer to is just as different as the teacher at the head of the class. Ask 20 Catholics if Adam and Eve actually existed. The number of responses will tell you all you need to know.

Sorry, you are wrong. The Catholic school board establishes the boundaries, do's and dont's and frames the delivery as they choose. Their handouts are different, their examples are different, and they don't promote things that contest their religious beliefs. It's not the Liberal's curriculum in their classroom and it won't change -- Wynne's not interested in hunting that elephant.
I am not wrong....happily sleeping with a Catholic teacher. I can't find the "Catholic" section below...can you? Expectations are the same. Teachers must teach the expectations of the ministry. Textbooks may differ based on the board....but teachers must meet ministry guidelines. Teachers are not required to use any resource. Feel free to ask your child's teacher.

Those bashing the Catholic school board there are some other less perceived values. I work with some of the schools and school boards around the GTA. From my experience the catholic schools are far better with the students and you can see the difference with the kids. The kids are more disciplined, better mannered, and don't behave, frankly, like idiots, and I have zero problems with them. The other side is basically a $hite show.

I think this time it's not so much strategic as a realignment of voters with new party doctrine. Ontario Liberals are political shapeshifters, they campaign center then if elected govern left. Liberal party members are required to follows the leader so his/her beliefs become the party doctrine -- PC and NDP stay with party doctrine.
Canadians seem most comfortable with parties that are in the middle practicing liberal economics (PC party, Liberal party sometimes). Liberals really understand this and typically campaign at this position to get in. A lesson McGinty and Wynne learned from the first modern Liberal victor, David Peterson (1985). Wynne campaigned as a economic liberal last election -- helped by a weak opponent it got her elected. Like Peterson, she campaigned middle and moved left with a social democrat agenda which betrayed her campaign and the folks that voted for her. Like Peterson she redefined her party so far left that it's no longer a comfortable choice for a majority.
I think Ford has figured this out. He's not going hard-core-Harris PC, more like the economic liberalism displayed by Bill Davis, the PC who led Ontario through it's greatest period of growth and prosperity.

What you posted is exactly what I said. The resources can be from the school board but the expectations that the teacher has to teach to are set by the province. I can type it one more time if you like. Expectations are the same for each board. You can add the word love and God anywhere you like. And how come you didn't ask your kid's teacher? Again...you ever see a bishop speak to the School board....ask your friend if he meets the Bishop before he writes his report card.
Ford hasn't figured anything out....he doesn't need to promise anything. He'll win because people are tired of Wynne and not because people are attracted to anything specific. The PC party had a sizeable lead in the polls with Brown and nothing has changed now that Ford is the leader and has completely changed their platform (sex ed, carbon tax gone etc). All Ford has to do is fall over the finish line and be the new Premier. It's just a matter of how large a majority. ANY of the PC leadership winners would be cakewalks.

On a serious note, did your favorite politician tell you what you wanted to hear to get elected last election? And the one before that? Did they keep those promises?
Ford has a thin political history but its on track with respect to promises and delivery. By the way, how did the incumbents do on the promises they made last election? And the one before that?

Mostly correct, except for:
1) Ford has figured out exactly what you said -- that's enough. The last PC leader had the same advantage, Hudak. He was too dumb to figure that out - Ford has figured out you only talk about 'hurt' until after you're elected.
2) Ford has increased the party lead over Wynne. Brown's best was 36%, Ford sits at 44% today - more than a 'nothing' change.
Being a socialist can't be fun right now.
