This is no secret. Catholic school boards are delivering the curriculum through a "Catholic lens". There is no shortage of info on this, it's a sidestep of portions of the cirriculum that they don't agree with. They are too big of an elephant for the Liberals to eat... don't expect them to change.
The Bishops in Ontario have as much control over the math curriculum as they do with sex ed. The individual teachers read the curriculum and apply it. You'll have some who do it to the letter and some who'll insert their own beliefs. That is no different from any other teacher in any subject in the public board or otherwise. The article you quoted is to allay the fears of their constituents (and by that I mean Catholics). The Catholic lens you refer to is just as different as the teacher at the head of the class. Ask 20 Catholics if Adam and Eve actually existed. The number of responses will tell you all you need to know.
