Rejuvenating Hi-Vis Gear

Since this applies to both Men and Women Gear, I am posting it here.

In the past, I used Aerostich Roadcrafter II motorcycle suits, from 1992 to 2016. Way back then, high tech gear wasn't what it is these days. Anyway 2 suits in 25 years, not bad although you did need a rain suit when it rained heavily for hours.

In 2016, I bought a KLIM Latitude jacket in Hi-Vis Yellow and black pants that I still use to this day. No regrets and I have been in monsoon type rains for over an hour and the paper towels in my pockets are dry.

New...if you cannot see this, stay home.

But as we all know, Hi-Vis Yellow tends to really fade especially high up in the mountains with thinner air and nothing but sunlight, so last fall I bought some Rit Neon Yellow. Lets give this a try as I have nothing to lose.

Unfortunately, the following pics taken do not show the real vivid colours I got after applying the dye. I thinned out the dye with some distilled water and applied it with a new toothbrush.

One coat applied on the left half. The right side is what Hi-Vis that has faded looks like.

After three coats...

Not having any experience with this, I have no idea how rain will affect the dye. Will it wash out?

As it stand now having done all Hi-Vis Yellow areas of the jacket, it looks almost "like-new".
