Refreshing Old Motorcycle Parts

Hi everyone,

I have a 80's import bike that has a leaky fuel hose from the petcock (fuel tank) to the engine.

I wanted to replace but parts are hard to find. Then, I was thinking if buying a generic hose, and modify it but would be difficult because the hose has different diameters on each side.

I was wondering if the existing hose can be refurbished in anyway. If so, what did you do?

If not, has anyone tried to modify a hose to a different diameter?

Probably not, hoses from the 80 are typically rubber, some reinforced with polyester threads. Not rebuildable.

It's a $15 part. Try searching for part number 16954KT7000.

If you can't find an original, you can try a barbed hose reducer, unless it's a really short overall length.

just stretch ctc fuel hose over both ends, maybe? I like the semi clear purple hose. lots of stretch available.

OP: Here's a tip: Honda only sell parts in markets where the bike was sold. If you want parts for your JDM bike, look in the JDM market. Honda Canada doesn't know or care about your bike.

I have two of these! They are really nice bikes.

If you are on Facebook, there's a group I'm with that's specific to this year only (since the bike changed after)... most of the members are in Japan but it's starting to become global. Google translate works well enough with people helping people with issues and parts.

If you still have issues, let me know and I'll see if I can help you. I took apart my bike a couple of years ago and put it back together with hubby's help.
