Great, another Keyboard warrior. Don't like the price, don't comment.

LOL, you invited commentary by posting a link to it in this thread. If you didn't want commentary on your ad, there is a Classifieds section.

OP: Seriously, z1000, Speed Triple, or Street Triple R. If you want to go used, the CB 919 and Honda 599 are great options. Don't be scared of the litre bikes, just take it easy at first, and you'll more than likely be fine. After 2 bikes, you likely have enough experience.

This will be my 3rd bike and I'm looking for opinions on what to get. I really like the look of naked bikes if they have a windscreen, but am open to almost anything. Supersports are ok too as I am at the age/experience now where I can actually afford the insurance.

I recently went on a ride with my buddy who has a ZX6r and that looked pretty slick. One of the reasons I like the naked styling is because I work on my bike all the time and removing fairing gets annoying, he mentioned though that it only takes 10 mins to get the plastic of his bike.

Any advice or recommendations is appreciated!!

may be some of us should group up with a trailer to grab some bikes from the states. i've been eyeing some fz6's listed at $3800 in the us.

if your looking for one without fairings what about yam- fazer6, fz8, fz6 or kaw- versys, er6n etc.

I wouldn't recommend an SV650 as a 3rd bike. He likely wants a bit more oomph.

I wouldn't of expedcted that a 650 would be lacking in power....I know it wouldn't keep up with ss bikes, but I would of thought it would have enough power. Then again, I though the 500 would have enough power to keep me going for longer.

I really like that bike but I'd be a bit wary of the ***-heating high strung pipe.

A buddy of mine has the 919 version. No issues with the undertail exhaust in terms of heat. Even 2 up. The 599 and the 919 are both very nice.

Have you thought of the ER-6N? It's a nice Kawi product it's similar to the Ninja 650 but naked.

I recommend the Street Triple R too because that's what I'm planning to get!

I did some pricing and you can easily save an extra $2,000 buying this bike in the US. Ontario Triumph dealers don't want to deal. Or will knock off a very low amount like $200. Quebec is better and you can save at least $1,000. But all options are going to be over $10k. There are a lot of cheaper options out there, but no naked bike is so well reviewed.

My preference is showing, but F800R. Go take one for a test ride. And *ridiculously* easy to work on.

The problem with the SV is not the lack of power, but the fact that it handles like a bag of soggy diapers when compared to a modern SS. That is without investing a lot of time and money in upgrades. My old bike was an SV650s, and even with progressive springs, cartridge emulator forks and a ZX10 rear shock it was nothing like my new GSXR.

So...I guess the question becomes, which non SS bikes fit the bill? I'd prefer to wait at least a few years to buy a ss and hopefully by then my insurance will be more reasonable.

What about the FZ6....anyone have opinions on that?

Actually, I just found out my ss insurance drops when I turn 30....only a year and a half away. So I think I will hang onto my 500 until then.

At 30, I think my premiums will probably be around 600-700 a year for a ss.
