Recall: 2023 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR KRT Editions Could Have Engine Stall

Kawasaki Motors USA issued a safety recall for all of its 2023 Ninja ZX-4RR KRT Edition bikes due to the possibility of a sudden engine stall that could occur.

Yikes. Looks like the rotor comes off the crank. That would be unpleasant at speed and probably give you almost no warning.

As for this "An estimated 991 units in the US market are believed to be affected, which represents one percent of the population", what do they mean? There is no way they sold 100K of these in the US. I would be shocked if they sold 100K worldwide during the life cycle of this bike.

I looked it up on nhtsa.gov ... this is the exact language in the safety recall report:

That makes more sense. A very poorly constructed sentence that molested the intended meaning.

Probably has to do with batch-build assembly sequence, leading to all the affected models being in a batch of KRTs.
