Rain ride

I haven't read back but has anyone tried the a* quick seal rain gear? Appears it folds up to almost nada but is pricey compared to frog toggs.

Also interested to hear. Was thinking about picking this up as a quick cover for the summer but reviews online talk about it failing after 1 or 2 rides.

Yes, very pleased with my frog suit--and it's lime green so I stand out a bit more in the murk. (and thanks for the tip--foolishly I have never bothered with the hood.)

It's just the occasional fog of visor and spectacles that makes riding in the rain a bit annoying at times, but otherwise still very enjoyable.
Get a better visor for your helmet, mine never fogs.

What helmet do you have? My RSR2/RSX and Scorpion EXO1000 helmets had good reviews as far as fog goes but they will fog up when I'm riding near 0C.

I have a transition visor on my RS1 and same on my RF1100. Worth the money.

When did they introduce the Transitions visor for RF-1100? I was thinking that was the main reason to want a RF-1200, but I may keep the 1100 for a while longer now.

This.... that visor is the same as my x12s and I'd love one. That's why I have an rf1100 too.

where did you get the one that fits the RF1100 and what was the cost on it?
i think im going to get an Arai this year, and if i do ill have a silver mirrored irridium for the rf1100 for sale, bran new aftermarket one. probably $40 or so. i bought 2 just incase i lost or damaged it and used one for about 3 seasons ans still doesnt have a scratch on it.

as for riding in the rain, im not a fan but have done it a lot.
last year i rode every day from mid march or april till july... my car was broken and i gave up on it, honestly didnt look at it till the day i traded it in, bought a new truck in july.

ops sorry, RF1200 not 1100

the 1200 is a helmet im looking at soo
how much was the transitions visor and how do you like it.
When I asked at gp a week ago I was told you can get it for the rf1200 but that was it so far

Rain Ride; I thought this post was about a PA ride a few buddies and I took a few years ago. We refer to it as The Rain Ride because it started raining just as we entered NY and did not stop until we were on the way back on the QEW near Burlington. Still a great few days despite the wet roads. Best part was watching one of the guys in a cheap rain suit as his pant legs disintegrated while he rode along. When we got off the bikes at a fuel stop we almost fell over laughing because his pants were now shorts and looked like something a castaway would be wearing.

When I was working in TO I would use the cage if it was raining when I left for work. Even with a good rain suit it is not nice to arrive at work even slightly damp. But if it was clear in the morning with rain forecast for the afternoon I would still ride. Then when I got home a quick wipe with a towel completed my bike wash; one of the benefits of having a bike with more plastic than chrome.

Better to ride in the rain than not ride at all. Invest in good quality rain gear (you won't regret it) and hope you don't have to use it very often. With todays great quality tires riding in the rain is no issue....as long as you can see...ride safe

Go for it, unless rain's heavy. Not worth it. Visibility for you and the car drivers becomes a concern. If your spark plugs are exposed, water can find it's way in, and one of your outer cylinders could go out. Happened to me, but it was during that flooding rain two years ago, so maybe not very likely. Choice of tires is relevant, as the traction decreases. Things to avoid - wet metal plates on the road, or even manhole covers. Streetcar and train tracks are a ***** too, gotta keep the angle steep. Also, right after a light rain starts is the most slippery road condition. All things considered it's still fun:)

Anybody use non moto specific rain gear? My Velocity rain suit has seen better days and the Marmot PreCip gear looks pretty decent...

Frogg Toggs aren't motorcycle specific.
