Rain ride

Tend to avoid it, especially when the temps are below zero, but did a lot of rain riding last year without much issue.

Always have the A* rain suit under the seat. It sucks, but okay to get home with. Have been through lots of rain, and hail on long trips but day to day, I'll hop in the cage.

What is this rain suit that is small enough to fit under a seat?

Quick seal rain suit. It's a C--- to get under there, but she fits. It doesn't replace real rain gear for long treks as it'll soak through. Perfect for getting home, or even fine for light rain. I keep mine in two separate bags. Won't fit with the tool kit in there though.

If I can ride in -30 and snowstorms, the rain isn't going to stop me. Rain or shine. Hell or highwater, snow, sleet, but no fresh ice or deep snow. I actually enjoy the rain most of the time.. people drive much slower often which is annoying but doesn't affect me much on this bike. I guess I'd rather they were cautious then agressive. Since my tires are so slim though and everything is so small its an interesting ride. I'd rather be riding an actual bike for sure. No under seat storage for the rain suit means it stays in a back pack or a bag attached to the bike- which sucks too.
In short though, in conclusion; Yes we ride in the rain.

The worst part about riding in the rain is the smell of the dead bugs cooking off your rad.. I don't know why the water seems to activate this, but it's gross.

No I think the worst part about rain riding is snaking for miles down a mountain on an interstate passing a convoy of fracking trucks and realizing the mist and rain coming from the front wheel well of the truck you're passing is really his smoking brakes

I need a new rain suit. Went thru 2 VCX suits in as many months. Bought 2 at retailer shut down. Inner lining on pants shredded and the jacket isn't water proof after a few uses.

I like my frog toggs. Had them about 4 or 5 seasons now. The one thing is that the material goes "pilly" like an old wool sweater. But so far they still work.

Tip - pull up the attached hood before putting on your helmet. That way no water can sneak in at your neck and run down your back.

Anyone here ride rain?

no, the bike will melt.. ;-)

lol.. seriously, I will if need be. Lots of garage queens and fair weather riders in Ontario though

Yes, very pleased with my frog suit--and it's lime green so I stand out a bit more in the murk. (and thanks for the tip--foolishly I have never bothered with the hood.)

It's just the occasional fog of visor and spectacles that makes riding in the rain a bit annoying at times, but otherwise still very enjoyable.

Rode yesterday in rain.

Had my columbia rain jacket in greeeeen (hello hi viz) and my oxford rain pants. My moto boots are waterproof and it was only my gloves that were not waterproof (and theyre perf'd leather) rode about 45m and was alright, hands a lil cold at the end of it but for a first ride of the year, it went pretty well..i was quite dry when i got home.

I'll ride in the rain if it's not too bad, otherwise I'll take the car instead.

Riding in the rain isn't nearly as bad as being stuck in brutal traffic on your bike in the rain. I question myself when that happens.

Thats when the zen goes away. Raining or steamy hot and the in front dbag won't make a right turn on a safe red. Or the like.

As long as it is nice on my way to my destination, I don't give a rat's *** what it does on my way home..... rain, snow, sleet, downpours, tornadoes, whatever. :-)

I find they balloon up quite a bit. I got soaked riding in them too. I got a touring jacket which is more waterproof
