Anyone riding Raglan lately ? Was out today. It always amazes me some of the crazy vehicles you see there.Lots of dort bikes as well although the ATV's seem to be almost taking over.

I thought it was closed and super po po hot spot?

I was there on Friday and the cops showed at 4:30 when I was packing up, at least I got the day in. The cop was telling me that lafarge is going to start having the cops hand out fines in the next month or so and start working on the site, could be BS also.

The only thing that place is good for now is setting up the suspension for whoops because every trail has them, even the hills are getting smaller. The trucks are just leaving big ruts in the open pit which stinks because you can't get your speed up and stay on track.

It will be the ganny for me from now on. I spent the rest of my time there on Friday until dark.

Good to know. There was 6 other cars there so I thought it was good to go. I only ran about a 1000 feet of the trail anyways, I was still trying to get my jetting sorted.

It's funny how they don't make that information well known. It took a bit of searching for me to find out what dates motorized vehicles were allowed in.

I guess Pickering and Raglan will have to do for a couple more weeks. I'm itching to get into some singletrack though.

Raglan is still pretty muddy! Hard to believe considering we havn't had any rain! Pic from today:

That's exactly what it is. LaFarge owns it.

Here is where it is:

Have fun. The place is a zoo on the weekends and the cops sometimes stop by. During the week it is pretty dead though.

Its on every map and every parking area sighn.Just to let everybody know having inurance and off road plates is heavily enforced for the first couple of weekends.

I normally ride the Ganny but as mentioned it doesn't open until May. Whats interesting about Raglan is no matter how hard the police try they never seem to be able to stop people from riding there. My understanding is the road (if you can call it that) is an unassumed road which I would guess is perfectly legal to ride on. Its the pits and forest thats privatley owned so that would be considered trespassing. I showed up once and a cop was there and told me to turn around. Came back 20 mins later and he was gone and lots of people were out riding.

Yeah from what I've read the road is legal. Lafarge owns the pits so it's not like it is a conservation area and you are going to do damage. It will be a big hole in the ground soon enough.

Lafarge started flattening the pit last year and closing off the entrances so I'm guessing it won't be too long before they fence it off and do their thing.

I've been riding there for......well everywhere,,, for 20 years.. This brings back lots o memories.....yes the cops are there...every so often....there are legal areas up there.....the area is 40 klms long by 1 to 3 klms wide.... harmony road to the 115 hwy....the unopened road allowence is legal all the way across.....there are many abandoned properties up there.....cops cant touch you there......I have camped there for 4 days in a row with the cops chasing everyone...helicopters with night vision.....guys with illegal sub machine guns shooting propane tanks......I love this place....#1 stolen car burning place.....I even found a dead biker in the woods!!!!!sad story...and almost died there myself........lots of memories...........ride there you will have a BLAST....you can ride from here to the Ganaraska forest
