R6 exhaust question

Ive got a 1999 yamaha R6, the exhaust is like normal sound but after I heard the newer ones like stock 2008+ R6, their exhaust is shorter than have a less choppy sound, deeper and sounds more aggressive as you accelerate. I am just wondering if I could just buy a new or used stock exhaust and have the same effect on my 99' stock R6. Or does it depends on the engine?

I wouldnt bother and you probably wouldnt have the same effect. If you wanna really have a deeper sound cut down your pipe, cheap to do and you'll start saving money towards your transmission, cause soon that second gear is gonna go bye bye lol
