R U a brainiac?

Dish? Are you nuts? If any thing I think fork is closer than dish. Think about it. I have.
I thought dish and plate were pretty much the same and therefore the answer must be fork.

Either way it's plate.

Container.

Fork is too far removed a concept.

What's the difference between a plate and a dish? I feel dumb now.

A dish is what you present food in/on. A plate is cake's last stop before it gets into my bellay. Cup plays a similar role with coffee.

Dish is too broad a term.

So a dish is just a big plate?

A dish can be a lot of things. A cup is probably a type of dish.

I dunno. I don't speak English.

Coffee is to a cup what cake is to a plate? Yes cup holds the coffee, plate holds the cake. Cup is last stop before coffee enters mouth, plate is not last stop before cake enters mouth, fork is. Cup is used to meter coffee into mouth, fork is used to meter cake into mouth. Unless you eat directly off the plate. Plate looks nothing like a cup, fork looks nothing like a cup so there's that.

Frustrating when you're smarter than the test.

I think your argument may hold up in a court of law. Better call Saul.

Despite all that I would still pick plate as the correct answer. Fork is just too far out there. It was fun to experiment tho.

you mean I'm supposed to use a fork when eating cake?
I believe for any type of desert other than cake, it would be a spoon, but for cake you have to use a fork:
