Any of you guys have a r/c hobby? more specifically with offroad R/Cs? I have a hpi baja replica and i'm looking for tracks to run it. The local parks and school yards are not very suitable for this kind of stuff, too many kids running around and high chance of injuring someone.

I looked on google but all i've got were forums that recommend tracks that are either not there anymore or unbuilt.

Thanks!

also, Share pics of your toys!

This is what I have but in orange.

Nice Baja. I want the 5T but I gotta sell some of my RCs to make space... Here's my Revo:

I also got Traxxas Slayer, T-Maxx, Jato, Mugen MBX5, Serpent 710 and a few others laying around.

oh and this beast here:

Might not be close to you if you're in the GTA, but just off the QEW before St Catharines there is a Paintball/RC Off-Road track combo on the north side (lake).

Nice! i admire your chopper.

I'm actually starting out in that field just trying to familiarize myself with the controls. Starting out on a blade MSR. Excellent little heli but mine's suffering from the toilet bowl effect and doesn't matter how hard i trim it or center the swash plate it does jack!

Hey question. Do r/c helicopters have some sort of fuel gauge? It would suck to run out of fuel anything more than 30' above the ground.
If there's no gauge I guess you just estimate the amount of flight time you have?

I had an HPI On-Road car a few years ago and it was a real hoot. At that time the 1.5 were the biggest motors they had.
Walked into a hobby shop a few days ago and saw that they're up to 3.0 for that scale/line of cars and there's a drifter there that looked really sweet.
Faught my instinct to buy it right away though cause I want to look up what else there is before I fork out 500$ for an RTR and probably even more for a proper remote/tools/upgraded parts/bodies/tires/paint....Oh yeah. Now I remember how much it cost last time I had one, LOL!

I'm mid-build on a .25 piper cub, all balsa... Just don't have a place to work on it...

No fuel gauge. The fuel tank is translucent so you can easily see the fuel level if you hover a few feet from you. But if you're out doing stunts and forget to check, the best thing is to keep the flight time to 5 mins. My controller has a timer so I can set a buzzer to sound at 5 mins so I'll land and check on the fuel. But if even it runs out of fuel in mid air, it's not game over. These heli's have a autorotation feature. It uses the negative pitch of the rotors to keep the rotors spinning while descending, then flip it to positive pitch as the heli approaches the ground. Takes practice...

Oh that's cool! I'd hate to be having a blast with a heli and then out of gas and then crash...haha.
Thanks for edumacating me. :)

I've owned several HPI products in the past ranging from micro rs4, 2 nitro rs4s 18ss and the Savage LE with 3 speed transmission... now that thing was sweet, Crazy top speed with a RB concept motor in it and wheelies on demand. I missed that truck dearly until I picked up this baja. It's a whole new level of this hobby.

I fly heli's, planes and have a couple off roaders.... Losi LST XXL etc etc.. Nothing beats choppers. Im Heli3dflyr on RCCanada if anyone is on there.

I just got back into it a year ago when I had my shoulder rebuilt. I have a Traxxas Slash with Lipo's and brushless setup. Nuttin fancy but it goes like hell and is durable. I have no pics though. I also have an old beat up RC 10 GT and RC10 T3. Nice RC's guys! I recommend www.offroadrc.ca for tracks in the GTA area. There is a section for large scale RC as well. I think the track is called The Barnyard. All they run is large scale cars.

Here's a few of mine:

Damn, I was always a fan of the 5T, was debating between that and the 5b, decided to get the 5b cause it was cheaper. I want to own the 5t one day
