question for the ski and snowbord ppl

You can drive to Vermont, we do every year. Even their worst resort beats our best. They get awesome amounts of snow every year and have some fantastic glades to pick from. Killington is good, Jay as well. Some of the smaller ones are worth a look too; we have skied Okemo, Pico and Bromley. Check them out online.

LOL ya some friends and I made the pilgrimage there one season and found the mountain covered in ice. We went to Montreal and partied instead. :p

Oh yeah! I did Cloudspin when it had 2" of snow on top of boilerplate! Brutal!! The patrol guy was at the top..I said "Is it open?" He said "Knock yourself out..literally!!" Haha!!

While on the subject, what the next best resort after Blue mountain within the same distance? I prefer glades and moguls. I am bored to death with Blue Mountain. Heck I learned to snowboard there, got bored, then I picked up skiboards, got fed up with them. Now, I am considering a monoski :) Also it's over packed with morons. My girlfriend got hit twice on Suicide Valley.

There is nothing in the same distance. Holiday Valley in New York is about the same distance and has the same vert. It's supposed to be a half-decent place but never been. Bristol Mountain is about 3 hours away near Rochester..1200' vert but not much variety. I personally do Moonstone/Mount St. Louis..only about 55 mins from my place versus 2 hours to Blue..less vert but it's a pretty honest fall-line there. Can get busy but I go early and ski through lunch and leave late. I use it to work on technique.

All the "good" resorts..Whiteface, Jay Peak, Killington..they're all 5-6 hours or more. Whiteface has 3200' vert and it's the closest at about 5.5 hours. I've been going before x-mas for a few years when I see the snow is good. I take 4 days and use it as a warm-up for out west in January. I have to emphasize, watch the conditions at Whiteface. If it's sketchy, it's a tough hill. Leave it to the last minute, pick a good weekend and just blast down there on Thursday night. And it's generally empty compared to Tremblant and Vermont. Vermont has better snow at times..Jay Peak and Killington for sure.

I take a annual trip to Big White, BC every year. It has a sister resort in Vernon, BC named Silverstar which is nice too and not quite as busy. Do that a bit and you'll be spoiled forever there are runs for all levels and you never wait more than 5 min for a lift. I hear Revelstoke is amazing and might try it sometime.

i board holiday regularly. avoid thurs eve (school day), fri eve, and saturday. the rest of the time is awesome.

shes 2011 brah

Actually, he's wrong..skiing has ALWAYS been about fashion unfortunately!! :-) I actually can't stand the knuckledraggers who have the need to sit ACROSS the run right off the chairlift while they buckle up their **** causing a road-block for everyone else who doesn't need to sit down, have a smoke and buckle-up..
