Princess Auto 1000 lb motorcycle lift on sale for $450

When i bought mine last Oct, the lady told me they go on sale in Apr.

Just spoke with my local PA and they verbally agreed to honor the last sale price.
I do have my utility trailer at home. hmmmm. should I or shouldn't I.

Make sure you have help unloading it. 370lb!

I would just use this tilting feature of the trailer.
Back into the garage space and let it slide down and peel out. I mean drive away slowly.

If you don't have a table, either will do as long as you MC fits. I see no use for the air lift, the foot pedal gets the thing up faster than hooking up air. The chock isn't race quality, but it works fine if you take the time to adjust it - most of the time I have it off the stand -- I prefer straps.

The width of the 800lb is a bit of an issue if you use axlestands -- just not wide enough -- you will need a center lift.

Current bike has Centre stand. I also have the yellow motorcycle stands but bike doesn't have spots for spools.
I wouldn't bolt on that wheel chock that comes with the table. I would use my blue PA chock I picked up recently for $35. I don't want it to be permanently on there, just bolt it in with 2 bolts. The reason is that I would store the lift table on its edge against a wall when not using it for repair/maintenance.

The cheaper 800lbs is not in stock in any local stores anyway, so that one is out of the equation. Closest one is Manitoba and sold out online.

As Wingboy said, it's pretty heavy. I move mine around the garage while it's on it's rollers, but I would get tired real fast if I had to store it vertically every time I wasn't using it. I'd still choose a lift vs lying down on cold concrete every time though.

Yes, at about 370lbs, it cant be easy to just move that around freely.

I would roll it into place against the wall and then using a ratchet strap or some pulley, I would lift it up onto its side/edge.
I am not lifting 370lbs without any assistance.

It's probably close to the weight of your trailer. Besides you don't need to lift 370 lbs, just 185 as presumably you are leaving one side on the ground and tipping it up.

^^^^Theoretically yes.

Is it possible to just park the bike on the lift and eliminate the need to flip the lift on its side and store it elsewhere in the garage?

Btw, the online price of the blue PA wheel chock dropped to $40.03...much closer to your $35 in-store price.
I ordered one last week and it arrived this morning (free shipping).

Nice, good for you.

Just leaving it on the garage floor is not optimal for me.
I'm in and out of the garage all the time and kids bikes with the summer.
It would just be in the way all the time.

So I did say that I would prefer the bigger platform version but would consider the smaller one if I found one at the right price. Well I did indeed.
How does $200 sound. :):):)

I missed out on a deal of the bigger one that I found on Kijiji for $300 the other day. I was mad with myself as someone beat me by an hour or so. (And I was checking religiously)
The unit today was at my house within 4 hours of it being posted and that's with a one hour drive each way.

This one is still a 1000lbs version but with the smaller platform and only foot pump operation. It does not have air to raise it. No big deal as for the amount of times I will use this, I wouldn't benefit from the air that much anyways. It did not come with the wheel chock as the previous owner said it was optional when he purchased it and he used the lift for lawnmower repair. Only a couple years old and used a hand full of times. (PA has this unit in all blue currently for $549.99)

I do see the benefit of the slightly larger platform, not so much in the width but more so in the length.
With my current blue wheel chock, it is a little hard to chock the bike into it because as the front wheel is entering the chock the rear wheel is trying to get over the hump from the ramp onto the work platform. The length and weight of the bike certainly do not help.
A solution for this might be to mount the blue wheel chock further up with the front leg hanging over the platform. This would allow me to bring the entire bike onto the platform before chocking it in. (I mounted the wheel chock with 2 bolts to the platform)
I plan on removing the wheel chock to store the lift on its side against a wall.

Another thing to note is the rear wheel hatch and the centre stand.
I may want to reinforce the removable hatch from underneath with an angle iron so it does not bend as the rear wheel sits right on it closer to the back end.
Also, I cant use my centre stand as the feet rest on the rear wheel hatch area. The feet of the centre stand are not wider than the hatch. To remove the rear wheel I would have to use a rear bike stand. Bringing the wheel chock further up may eliminate this issue.

Enough rambling. Overall I am happy with the Kijiji find. I would think it is a keeper unless I find the slightly larger with air pump at another great deal. In that case this one would go to a new happy owner.

If someone in the Milton area wants to borrow it. I am happy to lend it out.

how much you want to pay for one with an air pump? in new condition

I bought one for work in the Fall as a height-adjustable work bench, sale price was $450 and worth every penny.
I’m half-assed looking for one for home too. I think fair offer would be somewhere in the $350-400 range.

That's pretty fair
I have seen them as low as $300. But they don't last long

$300 for a decent condition used one seems good. But if the one Lucky is selling is in like-new condition with minimal use/wear, then it’s worth every bit of $400. That’s still over $100 cheaper than new at the sale price, once taxes are factored in. No tax on private sale.

i paid a few 100 more than 400 for it,
Offering you anything less than $400 would be an insult to you and I would not want to do that.

You are probably better off either keeping it or selling it to someone who will get much more use out of it and need the "better built" lift.

How come you are selling it?
