Primmum renewal just in:

^^
Ugly discount

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder!

And as insurance is cheap, I can afford toys for the bike, and myself!

Dropped close to 300 dollars,

CBR 125

Male, 22, third year riding, one minor conviction that they recognize, now I pay 1200 per year.

Might have a look at the new Ninja 300, or used SV650, or GS 500.

27, Male, M License, this will be my third year of ins. 1 minor

07 FZ6 = TD, recognizes 1 minor - Up $56 to 950/yr
10 GSX-R 750 = StateFarm, doesn't recognize 1 minor (yet?) was $2100, waiting on renewal

i'm with TD (Meloche Monnex) and mine went down...not a whole lot but down none the less...44, female, no convictions, just starting 3rd year riding (M2 in May 2011) and ride a kawasaki vulcan 500...

I got a brand new bike and it only went up $40 with TD Primmum. My son had to do a car claim with them and they were great, they sent a cheque fast for the written off vehicle and it was a fair assesment of the value.

insurance next year? does that mean your heading south with us again? got mine a month ago, SF, clean, $1050 for the 08 1krr

That's a good rate for a 1L bike. They won't come near that for my bike. South? Most likely, even if my bike does sell, I'll drive down.

I guess you were getting a really good deal last year.

BTW, premium $ / cc is no measure of how premium is calculated. If it were a guy with a Gixxer 1000 would be paying the same as some guy with a 50 hp 1000cc cruiser.

Last yr was about $1180. This yr $1350. No tickets, claims etc.
Yes - I know their system for rates..........I think I'm getting too ****ing old & being surcharged for that.

Mine dropped by $300/yr for a gixxer1000

mine went up $100ish for a 2000 RC51

Married, mid 30s, no claims or accidents.

1st kid coming in a month...don't know if I'm going to ride this season =(

TD MM and a good drop for me -- Last year (first year riding, with M2) was $1200/year on the CBR250R, and the renewal is only $640/year. I'm still going to call SF though and potentially switch (if the rate is similar), since I plan on upgrading to a 2013 CBR600RRA within the next year or two (and I'm not sure SF still does/will keep doing bike only policies).

Also for reference, 30yo male (turing 31 in Feb), clean record, M2 since April 2012, and living in Scarborough (car & condo also with TD MM).

TD is being a PITA to me. I got my M1 in february and my M2 in early april I believe. They're charging me for the full year as if I haven't been licensed for a year. I asked if they're pro-rating it and they said they don't give discounts for having your license for over a year (which I was told you DO when I first started my policy last year.)

Hell, even their online quote system is showing discounts for license-length (I know online quotes are redundant but it's still a good way to get a general basis...)

For anyone wondering: First year on a GS500 was 3600. Ninja 500, on the assumption I had my license for a year (which I asked when I called before buying the bike) they quoted somewhere around 2400. I buy the bike, and then they quote me for 4600. They didn't say they don't pro-rate, they did say they don't give discounts for having a license 1+ years.

I just said screw it at the time, as it was october so only $50 for coverage until renewal. I'll call them soon and find out wtf is up.

How old are you and what is your record like?

How old are you and what is your record like?

19 years old (born feb 12th.) Last time I got my M1 was feb 17th 2012.

Got my G1 July 2011, still have my G1.

No tickets, no nothing.

Looks like there is nothing you can do but wait and bite the bullet.

TD (main, MM, Primmum) are not rider friendly if you're under 30 it seems. You can probably find a better deal elsewhere. I found TD to be shockingly uncompeditive, even for non-sportbikes, with a group discount.

im with monnex and mine went down $122 to $1252 which is a smoking deal when i called around, im 21 with GM2, on my third year of riding on a ninja 250r

Everywhere else said they won't insure me unless I either have my license for a year, or I'm over 21. So I'm going to wait until I find out next week what's up with TD, and then call around elsewhere.

Just received my renewal...$688 last year....$735 this year with TD, MM. Nothing has changed on my record. 2003 GSXR600. 45 y/o licensed 28 yrs. WTF.

Yeah its an ongoing trend with insurance companies raising their rates

I'm 26, turning 27 in march, no tickets, no accidents and no claims, I bought a 2013 Kawi Ninja ZX6r 636, I was paying just shy of $85/month for a 2006 Kawi Ninja ZX6r 636 , now i'm paying just shy of $90/Month for my new bike, which works out to ... 1080 on the year, I'm happy with this :) . My renewal will be in June, so we'll see what happens then.
