price difference between dealerships? which one to go with?

All things being equal I'd go with the dealer that gave you the best price to begin with (unless you told him what the other dealer was willing to sell for). I've no time for businesses that give you "their best price" then are willing to drop the price some more once they've found out someone will sell for less.

If however one dealer is in your area and is competitively priced, I'd go there. While any dealer can service your bike I'm sure you'll find you get better service when you show up with a bike you bought there... just sayin.

Had the same sort of thing happen to me, when I bought my first bike; several hundred dollar price jump when I actually showed up, to buy it. Didn't have the internet and message boards to help me out with it, at the time, and experience is a hard teacher.
