Preventing Dangling Keys from Scratching the Bike

Hey Guys.

I just started riding and new to the board. I was wondering what kind of solution people use to prevent their dangling keys from scratching the bike.

Thanks

Serious?
In case you are, use only the one key to start your bike and leave all other keys at home/trunk/pocket.

Quick release key chain, rest of keys go in tail/pocket. Do i get a cookie?

one key by itself on a plastic clip thing

then clip key on helmet or other keys

Yes I was serious. but i was thinking there may be a more creative solution. Something along the lines of pouches or key covers.

i posted what I do, when u get off bike it goes in pocket. when u go home clip it on helmet, u always know where it is

Thank you for your contribution. Much appreciated. My motive here is that i don't really want to carry 2 sets of keys going out. I have a single house key attached to the bike key right now and thought there could be something i can do to prevent scratches made with that one house key without having to separate it.

What do your keys scratch? A top triple? There is nowhere else around the lock on my CBR where the keys would reach (and I still ride with a separate bike key).

If your so worried about it scratching the bike and want to carry only one set of keys. Just cut out the desired shape using some cheap screen protectors or other transparent film and just stick it on where the keys might scratch.

Slip a piece of rubber tube over the house key. You're welcome.

Ok OP dont listen to the trolls who are calling you stupid for posting this question. I had the same issue and had to come up with my own solution. Hear is what i did.

First you need to get yourself a large plank of wood and three strong steel chain links.
Glue the chain link equidistant around the inverse aixs of the wood. Boom no more issues

get a bike where they don't dangle on the tank.

Seriously though, it would bug me as well, and I would hate keeping separate key chains. How big is your keychain that it is dangling over your tank?

Finally some solid advice. Does the length of wood matter, or type of wood?

Pretty sure dude is now done with gtam, and will now be spending way too much time thinking of a solution for his house key.

Maybe sell house for summer?
