Preferential Treatment In All Its Glory

Wasn't there a thread on this last year? I couldn't find it.

Proof with enough money you can do whatever you want. How is this not front page news on the New York Times? Outrageous all charges dismissed. The guy didn't even have to hire a high end attorney to get him off on a technicality in court.
Not enough evidence? This was a couple blocks from time square I'm sure they could've got video from 10 of the stores along his path of terror....plus all the eyewitness cellphone video and VIDEO of him in drivers seat drunk or high clear as day, not obeying the police officers orders.
Who could residents of NYC complain to about this that'd listen and bring it to justice? Who's bank account should be looked into for a sizeable donation? Unbelievable.

Proof that Ameriacn Law has way bigger issues to deal with as no one seems to be horrified.

Except the 5 parked cars.

He's going to have to wait about a year to get parts for that heavily modified ( and formerly gorgeous) porche.

I think he's been punished enough

"For reckless driving, at least, the prosecutor needs a lot more evidence than the police do to prove that case," Burney told Road & Track. "The way the courts have interpreted reckless driving in New York is tricky. That prosecutor has to be able to show—notwithstanding what the language of what the statute says—that the driver was actually disregarding the safety of other people. And that get's tricky when there's nobody else on the road."

The charges would seem to be a lot easier to prove if it was a young colored man in a ford focus I'm sure.

Not everything is about race. It was a rich asian kid btw. Are Asian people not colored enough anymore? Color had nothing to do with this, if it was a poor person they'd have zero chance of fighting the charges regardless of color.

People don't seem to realize that left ,right, black, white have more in common then rich vs poor. The people at the top want everyone divided so no one notices how corrupt their system is.

Despicable but considering this is the 3rd or 4th car he's totaled, I'm not surprised; His family are 1%-ers.
He was never going to have any repercussions besides a slap on the wrist.

Even if he kills someone, they will throw $10M at the family like it's nothing.
