Post up your liquor/spirit talk ?

It's all that sugar in it. Not good for the hangover at all. I've tried more honey, less honey and more is better...but more painful in the morning.

I've also done VERY strong (think 60-70%) and it wasn't drinkable. So I try to cut it down to 40-50% (by math, don't have a way to measure it) and it's much better.
This stuff should be quite tame then.

I saw pre-made Aperol Spritz the other day. How hard is it to mix two things together?

Just need a souvenir Rogers Cup glass lol

Changing things up for a bit. Found a good deal on some fever tree ginger beer. Add some Appleton reserve, apple cider and a splash of lime and you have something pretty delicious.
Interesting…there was something I drank ginger beer with…but I put some wrong things together and got completely hammered.

Liquor + ginger beer + lime = deicious

But I didn’t notice the ‘non alcoholic’ part on the ginger beer…

Dark and stormy , ginger beer / dark rum / maybe lime is a go to in the summer here . Sometimes by the pitcher .

Mine is obviously dark and stormy based. I didn't love this combination of rum and ginger beer and I didn't have any other dark rums or ginger beers to mix it up. It was too heavy and not bright enough. Apple cider made a huge improvement.

In my effort for Australian assimilation I've finally acquired a taste for alcoholic ( or not ) ginger beer since A&W not available.
Ersatz Bailey's in coffee is my only daily drink .....hardly counts. I do like a baby Guiness at times.
My dad went 95 years without touching a drop of booze.
I did cure myself of scotch in uni slugging a half bottle of Johnny Walker .....:sick:

I'm jealous that you can get bundaberg. I love that stuff.

It looks like we can finally get it locally for over $2 a bottle. I may pick up a case. The last time I checked it had to come from the US.

My wife likes Agrum but Schweppes is a different company in every country with entirely different offerings. I don't think you can get that outside of oz.

Scotch is where it's at for me... or tequila if I'm feeling frisky.
Glenlivet, Oban, Dalmore, Balvenie, etc...

Monkey Shoulder is a delicious blended scotch also. Highly recommend.

Cheers!

I was given a bottle of monkey shoulder as an ironic gift when I took a promotion. She was right…..

My Gran went 92 yrs never had touched alcohol , I don’t think she died any happier than her son that drank his rye with a chaser of 3 marriages.

I’ll only make a dark and stormy at home with Goslings , since we always have goslings and it’s the official rum of the bevy. And Goslings sponsors a few events I participate in so it’s good return. I’ll be in Newfoundland in July and have a shot of screech in Newfoundland, not because I don’t already know it’s a crap product , but because it’s like not having a glass of scrapa or highland park when visiting Orkney . These things should be done .

I bought a fresh pineapple yesterday, slapped it in an old black and decker blender with some ice and milk and nearly burned the motor out trying to blend the thing. Added some local rum and it was the most delicious thing I’d had for a while. Will try the same thing tonight with a soursop/guanabana the gardener/housekeeper picked off a tree and gave us.

Maybe anything with rum is delicious.

I was in a whiskey bar in Vermont a few years back and went through many of the Scotch selections. After the usual Macallan, Balvenie, Glenmorangie choices I asked for a recommendation for my next drink and the bartender poured me a Monkey Shoulder. I've had a bottle on my shelf ever since. It's not my favourite but for a sub $100 bottle it's an excellent one to have on hand.

Tried makers mark instead of dark rum (with cider, lemon, ginger beer). Great success. I think it is far better than the rum version (with the current ingredients, different ingredients may change the recipe).
