Post up your liquor/spirit talk ?

Friend of mine just brought back some Irish Whiskey direct from Ireland — Sailor’s Home.
Very nice flavour - reminds me of Wayne Gretzky’s Red Cask, but with a nicer finish.

I recommend.

Sure do. Just need to find it as I've been winging it from memory and it's been so far so good.

I can send it over once I get it found again, but it boils down to:

- base liquor (90-98% proof)
- water
- grapefruit / lemons (choose your fav) - I've also done: rasberry (delicious), coffee, and only honey
- lots of honey

I just bought 4 bottles of the base liquor so will be making a batch in the very near future...just need to find some time.
 
What is it with you Polish guys and turning everything, honey , plumb’s, cherrys and lemons into booze ? It’s rampant.

By grape I mean grapefruit....I actually prefer it much better than the lemon.

I won't name those that already have tasted it (they can do that themselves if they choose to do so) and they can let you all know if it's good or not.

Do you have sample kits available? I dont need much, just interested to try.
 
I’ve done “samples” with Limoncello from the other goalie dad at a hockey tournament. Don’t remember how many shots I had…don’t remember much of anything tbh except the next day was the roughest I have ever felt…won’t be doing that ever again.

A friend’s sister lives in Pigeon Forge (think Dollywood). He use to bring back “duty free’ booze in Mason Jars when he visited her. Fun times.

It's all that sugar in it. Not good for the hangover at all. I've tried more honey, less honey and more is better...but more painful in the morning.

I've also done VERY strong (think 60-70%) and it wasn't drinkable. So I try to cut it down to 40-50% (by math, don't have a way to measure it) and it's much better.
