Post up your liquor/spirit talk ?

Bought some Dunrobin Canadian whiskey on a flyer the other day as I like to have new random whiskeys for company to try. It’s kinda blech. It’s only slightly higher priced than typical Forty Creek stuff but not nearly as drinkable.

Whoops. Lesson time today. Was making ginger beer in two two litre bottles. Split yeast starter 75/25 to see which I preffered. 25 one is doing nothing. 75 one keeps building pressure as desired. Vent some gas every day to keep it under control while carbonating the ginger beer. It felt mighty hard today. Set it down to crack the lid and as soon as I touched the lid, boom. Fack. Probably 500 ml left in bottle, the rest is distributed around my kitchen. Too much yeast. May need to improve my process to include proper over pressure relief valves. From prior experience with pressurized plastic bottles, this one blew at over 100 psi. Lesson learned. Won't be making them inside anymore.

Neither. Just vodka and a wee splash of DosHombres. What is the Cachaca like?

These have become my 2 new favs when it comes to beer.

Yuengling from PA.
My stock is running low from my trip in May. Only 2 out of 12 cans left.

More recently I discovered this great German beer while at a restaurant in Bayfield.

ERDINGER Weißbier

My typical Żywiec or Tyskie or Stella have been relegated to the back of the fridge.

Erdinger is great. When the LCBOs open again go and see if they have the other lines from the same brewery, they have a hopfenweiss (8% alcohol, delicious!) and I think they have a dunkel too (dark Weiss). This is one of my favourite summer beers served chilled with a lemon slice.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Not a huge fan of dark beer, but I can always at least try.

Cachaca is just fine , it’s distilled from fermented sugar cane , so it’s like a super high test white rum . Or Zippo fluid . It’s one of most popular spirits in Brazil and Argentina. I’ve never made a Caprihina with anything but rum , central American drinks seem to want rum , but I’d try anything once .
@oioioi , Yeungling is the oldest brewery in the US . They must be doing something right . It’s my goto beer when I’m in upstate NY or Penn. Rolling rock is second , I like the US version better that the Canadian reproduction.
I’ve not tried homemade ginger beer , it would be handy since dark n stormys are on the rotation here a lot in summer .

So last night I put fresh grated ginger into a bottle of diet soda water , left overnight , strained out today and mixed with rum . Ok it’s no resort bar dark and stormy , but I’ve paid people to mix worse drinks .
