I used to be on Reddit since 2008 (never posted), just uninstalled the app about 6 months ago. I don't do any other social media ever, so now I'm kinda out of the loop, but I think I have enough sites like hackernews/theregister etc to keep me up to date on most things tech and plenty of other sites and restricted forums for other things.Reddit is my guilty pleasure....right up there with GTAM.
Yes, I have a problem.
Coming from the original Digg days, reddit was such a good place that had a decent intellectual feel to it where there was good amount of discourse and what I felt like a genuine conversations. Sometimes in the past three or five years ago, it became like a 4chan shitpost and meme riddle garbage. The amount of people who take themselves so serious has made the platform unbearable and just downright depressing. I'm sure there are still nuggets of gold and other crap, but I'm not gonna sift through any longer. It's like all the silly facebook posters have migrated over and started post grandma's trip to the garden ****, and the ubiquitous "Girls, what trait in a guy you hate the most?" GetThefkOuttaHere!
