I bought a used bike from a dealer i paid for it in full cash, so i didnt have insurance so it was unplated and I took delivery of it @ home.Now I want to plate it, would I need a safety for it in order to insure it?

You need the safety to plate it at the ministry.
You need a safety to plate it. You can insure it without a safety but, you can't put it on the road. So, you might as well get the safety.
Some insurance companies request a copy of the safety but, I haven't come across this with motrocycles.

the dealership gave me a vehicle history disclosure form with ticks on wether the bike needed repairs to certain spots or not is that the safety? cause at the front theres a portion under the receipt that says "SAFETY STANDARDS CERTIFICATE" and it says "a ssafety standards certificate is only an indication that the motor vehicle met certain basic standards of vehicle safety on the date of inspection"
Yea the safety cert is supposed to help protect used vehicle buyers but too often it's just a way to generate extra revenue for auto shops and doesn't mean the bike is in good condition. That disclaimer you quoted basically means "we eyeballed this vehcs and it rolled. If $#it breaks when you leave the shop we take no responsibility". I watched a dude who knew nothing about bikes safety my friend's RR which consisted of checking lights, horn and brakes.
Anyway, to answer your question, no you don't need safety for insurance but you do need the safety + insurance to plate it for the street. You can get a temporary permit from the MTO if you need to ride the bike over to a shop that does the safety inspection.
