Places for Tire Change?

It does, but it only goes so far. Balancing new tires would be tricky.

At least if they can pop off the wheels and take it someplace it this would be the best option.
Looking at $60 per tire.
If you have a troublesome wheel, tire balance beads self adjust pretty well.

Tires often have an alignment mark to suggest where to best orient the tire relative to the valve stem (lightest spot on the tire)
... I've seen lots of them installed wrong professionally :|

...
Trying to adjust something heavy in three planes, and having everything fit together perfectly, is difficult.
Try putting a track back on a 17 ton excavator stuck in a mud hole :|

I've used Good Wheel Motors at Finch and Keele...17 Tangiers Rd, North York, ON M3J 2B1...before. Took the tires and wheels off the bike. Was $20 a tire to mount....but that was a few years ago.
Used Rosey Toes as well.

I would but I don't have the equipment to change my own tires lol.

It's doesn't take a ton of equipment. But if you only go through one set a year or every few years, it's not worth the effort.
My first few years riding, I put over 30,000km a year...so was regularly changing them.

Balancing is the easy part for bikes. It's not like balancing a car wheel at all. You can even do it with an axel and two jacks but a proper wheel stand is best.

Wrestling the tire off with tire irons, if it's an old hard tire, is the pain in the butt. Sports tires come off easy especially if they're warm.

i think Rosey Toes charges $20 per tire if you bring him the rims

I could always head up there on a weekend with tires strapped to the bike lol

yeah i'm sure I want to recommend that place. you will not find a single shop in Toronto that someone doesn't have a problem with.
i've been dealing with Ted for over a decade, used to take my bike to him before I had my own garage and did most of my own work, he came and picked me up once when my bike was broken down on the side of the road years ago, great guy.

Ted is quite a character. He's done my tires 5 or 6 times and never a scratch. $20 each for carry in with Pete's sourced tires.

Would I leave my bike with him for a few days for a valve clearance/shim adjustment and then 4 carb sync...........? No, IMHO shop is a mess and looks/is pretty unprofessional.

I agree, but OP wasn't asking for someone to shim his valves of adjust his carbs, Ted is the man for simple straight forward stuff like tires, oil change, brakes, chain replacement etc

FWIW I just left one of my bikes with Ted for about a month to have the carb cleaned - it's not a showroom princess by any means but it's a 1982 in near-mint condition. Dropped it off late January and picked it up last week - looks the same as the day I left it with him. Your mileage may vary, but I've also dealt with Ted for over a decade and not one single complaint.

Highly recommend Speedworx in Markham.
They have good prices on tires and installations as a package.
I have bought tires from them at roughly the same prices that online vendors charge and it supports a local business. They are also nice, professional people to deal with, which to me is worth the most!

They may be able to store the tires for you or whenever you need a tire change, just strap your new one to your bike and they can swap them out very quickly - book an appt first as always.
I second that -- the owner owns Racer5, his mechanics are all race guys and they really know their stuff. You can't drop in there without an appointment, but if you do make an appointment and show up on time they have you in an out with new tires quite quickly.

They changed my tires last year, install was $90 for the pair. I bought the RoadPilot4GT from them at the the same price as Fortnine, I brought tires for my buddy's ST1300 because they didn't stock that sice -- same cost, $90 for install.

Don't forget to drool over the 2 beautiful Ducati S1000 Monopostos in the showroom - bring $25K and they might part with one of them!

Owner of an '09 Suzuki WeeStrom here.

I took of my wheels myself, had the local Honda dealer, order and put the new tires on, then I and a neighbour put the wheels back on.

The dealer tire prices were within $5 of online, and taking the wheels off myself gave me significant savings on the install cost.

If you're going to do it yourself, make sure you have a repair manual, and help for the reinstall.

You won't save much by removing your tires, a bike mechanic will have them on and off inside a few minutes. The time is spent changing over the rubber and balancing. More importantly a bike mechanic will get tires and your chain back on true and safe -- something I would worry about if you're not used to changing motorcycle wheels.

If you like taking wheels on and off, then spend on a basic tire changer and balancer. They are less than $100each - that's about the price changing tires twice.

I didn't know you were still doing that. I need a rear on my Versys and I'm in Barrie. I'll send you a PM.
