Pirelli Superbike Pro Slicks .. whos tried em?

This years Dunlop slick med compound is last years hard compound FYI.
Should last a bit lobger

I thought this years Med compound for US NTEC slicks and 211's (in the 190/60) was new for 2013 - the 7455 compound? Etiher way, I was told they should last longer than the med compound they replaced as well.

*edit* - It looks like this only applies to the KR449 slick, not the KR451. My bad.

As for the Superbike Pros - When I bought my track bike there was set mounted on it, I did one day at Calabogie with them and couldn't get a feel for them, or the new bike for that matter. Next day went to the Dunlop 211's and bike felt so much better I never put the Pirelli's back on. Probably a bit biased though, I have always liked Dunlops.

Tried them for the first time on Saturday at soar. Love them. Way "grippier" (lol) than my previous tire (supercorsas). I'm by no means a champion racer but at my pace (1:34 ish long track gb) they were great. No slipping at all.

Just killed my first set of SC1s. They work well but lasted one slow day on Nelson and one fast day on Long.

As for Pros I and many others find them low on grip. I have three friends that tried them and won't buy them again. TAFB was sliding on them monday too, but might have been setup or pressures.

A little off topic but I have an opportunity to purchase a set of the SBK Pro's for a very good price...they're brand new however as per their manufacture date, they're almost 3 years old......Let me know your thoughts on if this is too old or if they're still good. Thanks

Just ride em. Unless the sidewalks are excessively cracked(in which I would still use them lol). 3 years is a ok. Unless they were stored in the sun for 3 years straight.

I was running SBK PROs last year also brand new but 3 yrs old according to manufacture date... I was able to run 1:15 consistantly at TMP which is 1 second off race pace... I was running 31front, 27rear hot!

And last a long time... I was getting between 200-300 laps out of them

I suspect you mean you were sunning the same Pirelli slicks that the CSBK riders are on.
This thread is about the Pirelli Superbike Pro trackday tires, slicks engineered specifically towards trackday riders and don't need warmers.

If you really went 1:15's on the tires I am talking about, that's super impressive.

Same tire. Pirelli Superbike Pros!

That is awesome!! This goes to show that they are a damn good tire. I have said that ever since I tried them....especially for the price and lifespan of them, you can't go wrong

Thanks for the feedback guys...picking up a set next week and can't wait to try them out :)
