Pinhole leak in PEX pipe coming from tankless water heater

@Relax Did you get it all sorted out?
If you were dealing with 1/2 I could have loaned you the tools and given you the materials.
I'm a big fan of copper, I even did my drains in copper! Who ever scraps my house is gonna be rich! Note: I know there is a missing escutcheon plate, never found the right size! That's on my never ending to do list! Bikes take priority!

Yes, as mentioned above, the Reliance tech took care of it by doing a patch job using a couple lengths of new PEX and some copper couplings and rings. He took the old section with him, but when I was looking closely at it, there was actually a hairline crack in it as opposed to a pinhole.

PEX (and most rigid pressure tubing) will crack when kinked or bent past their curve radius. That's why PEX curves should always be routed through a bend support bracket that is firmly staked.

That is bad news without a trap you get sewer gas coming up into the house which can be deadly. Get a trap in there asap.
