Pickup truck vs trailer vs van

I went to go look at a 6 speed taco and puked when I saw the finance rate. 5.6% interest for 5 years WHAT!?!?

If you wait till the end of the season (around late August/early September), Toyota typically clears out the last year's remaining models by lowering the finance rate. It's a game the manufacturers play to keep resale values higher.

I'm paying 1.9% over 36 months for my Taco.

Thanks.

I want the MT trd pro model... Is waiting for September really going to help ?

My CX-7 pulls the trailer with a bike or two just fine with a turbo4. I currently have a beef with Mazda though as I paid for the extra rust protection at dealer and haven’t needed it until now as it has a couple spots by a handle and rear quarter by bumper and put in a claim to have them fix it. They denied it saying the 3rd party provider claims the car is only worth $250 per black book due to age so will only pay that much to fix it and Mazda won’t do anything to help.
I’d recommend going enclosed trailer if you can swing it. Just easier than loading into the vehicle or having to tie down/secure in an open trailer (and keeps things clean on road if you hit any rain).

I'm never buying extended warranty from the dealer/manufacturer ever again.
I supposedly have a rust protection warranty on my Dodge until 2049...paperwork and all intact.
Put in a request in Feb 2020 to have some rust by the doglegs (the weather-stripping design tends to hold water) addressed and FCA kept d*ck*ng me around the entire year.
Stopped by one of their 'authorized' body shops to get a written estimate for them to process - they were asking for ~$1700 CAD because they had to cut into the frame etc etc..total B.S. imo.

Ended up going to another place that came highly recommended to me by someone and they got both doglegs dealt with for under $500 out of pocket and within two weeks - painting and all spot on.
I was fortunate to have caught it relatively early and slow the spread via Krown during the wait as the damage wasn't all that much when they started grinding.

Apologies - didn't mean to derail the thread OP!
My vote is for a pickup.
Much nicer and more versatile overall imo...having a long bed can be used for camping and such...

And you cant go wrong with the Japanese trucks...I mean like, if the military, mercenaries and terrorists trust them..it must mean something in terms of reliability/durability lol..

Only downside is you may end up getting a lot more calls from friends/co-workers and family lol.

Oh, the TRD Pro.

Wow, baller league.

No, I don't think they'll lower the rate on the Pros. Sorry.

Nice truck, though!
Definitely baller

TRD PRO 6MT is about ~$70k after financing for 5 years at ~5% vs 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 is about ~$45-50k and it's 0% for 96 months

Is the MT transmission really worth the delta 0_o

Well, you're not paying $$$ for the MT.

The TRD Pro comes with trick suspension front and back and a locking rear diff. That's what you're really paying for.

Plus some other stuff like a skid plate and some cosmetic bits...

If you just wanted a MT, then get the non-Pro "Double Cab 6M SB". It's $53K all in (Freight, PDI, tax, etc) before financing.

There's also the "Access Cab 6M" version for $49K all-in. Less cabin space in the back, but comes with a 6' bed, which is always a nice thing to have.

Very true

trick suspension

my trick suspension is driving around the winter in my silverado with concrete blocks on the bed, smooths it right out and hugs the road too.

82K covers the cost of every vehicle and toy I've ever owned including a brand new 1986 Ford Ranger (off the lot for under 8K) and my new to me 1998 Roadtrek camper van.
But now I'm retired and have zero debt.

As to rusty vehicles - quit parking them in your garage, that's a place just for toys. Seriously putting your car in a warm garage each winter night is the worst thing you can do.

I'm not going to break out the calculator on this, but I'm fairly confident I've paid more than $82K just in taxes on all the cars and bikes I've bought over the years...

Did I mention I also order avocado on my subs at Subway?

dude you really own that f3? Cant find any mv agusta's anywhere in ontario

My garage isn't heated all the time. My wife's 2010 civic is always in there. When she bought it she insisted on extended warranty and Honda rustproofing. The car is immaculate. Zero rust. But it only has 73000km. Wonder what Honda uses?
