Pickup Driver Almost Kills Motorcyclist

had a mild heart attack watching that!

My heart stopped when I saw that truck, bike and tree in the same frame - and again at 4:18 when the other bikes were coming from the other direction.

Well, the cager's idea worked, the second bike didn't pass him in a no pass zone. It just could have been better executed.

I can't hear the audio on my work computers, can someone write a transcript of what was being said in the convo at the stop sign?
Or at least the jist of it? :)

Driver of the truck is a local and was fed up with all the bikes running up and down the road. Decided to take things into his own hands. Conversation basically has them arguing over how dangerous the other was driving. Calling the cops blah blah blah.

^ basically the bikers were talking to the driver about how the driver almost killed the guy

and the driver start swearing his *** off saying u stupid crotch rockets and stuff like i grew up on these roads i can drive anyway i want

and the motorcyclist said u were complaining about us but u were across the double yellow lines during blind corners btw ur on flim and ur gonna jail...which he then proceeds to call the cops on the spot telling them the trucks plate and how he got it all on film

anyways that redneck needs to go to jail down right attempted murder!

where was this no pass zone?

Someone is once again confused that double yellows mean no passing. (At least in Ontario, it's not.) Could be different in this particular state.

bike - " oh my god, yer shyyts goin to jail brother"

truck driver - " I grew up on dese here roads, suuuuuuu-eeeeeeeeee!"

theres the jist ;)

Thanks nakkers and absolute.
It's pretty much what I summed it up to by watching the pickup driver flail his arms around and then picked up a cell phone.
Did he come out of the pickup with an object in his hands that looked like a crowbar or something similar?

What's not confused is that someone objected to a particular road being used as a test track even though the method used to express that objection was a fail.

This seldom happens around here. The locals have instead mastered the fine art of pea gravel in strategic locations.

which you fully condone, im sure. Never mind that it could take out responsible riders as well on corners, but you dont ride a bike so what difference does it make.

really? can u show me anywhere that they were even speeding?

you're kidding, right?

I hate to say this, but Turbodish is right on this one.

Given it's impossible to tell how fast they were going and there is no posted speed limit in the video, how do you in fact know these people were exceeding the speed limit? Magic? How do you know the guy in the pickup wasn't doing 15 miles an hour and the bike decided to pass him?

Double yellow line = legal but potentially dangerous pass. That is all I stated.

I don't disagree with your statement, if they were in fact speeding, however I fail to see how what you said has ANYTHING to do with what you quoted from me.

I think what he was getting at is that nowhere in the video did we see any speed readings.
A video can eaasily be altered to run in fast-forward or slow-motion to create the illusion of faster speeds.
Hollywood does it all the time.

I agree that the speeding was quite obvious as long as the video is in a unedited form, but there is no proof.

+1.

I don't ride a bike? Yeah, right. More accurately, it's "I don't ride a bike on public roads past people's houses as if the road was my own personal test race track".

In any case, I can fully understand how frustration over ******** tearing up and down roads could cause people living on those roads to resort to extreme methods to discourage such hooligans. I don't have to condone what they do in response to the hooligans to appreciate that frustration.

Tell you what. Tell us where you live so we can invite riders and rodders from around the province to use the road in front of you and your neighbors as an unrestricted test track for a year. Then let's see how that goes over.

Fast or slow-motion does not change the lean angles on the bike.
