Pick up truck

One word.......Diesel
My dually (RAM w/ 24V 5.9 L Turbo Diesel) gets better mileage than most cars while pulling a 18 foot trailer at 120KPH If you want even better stay at 100. I can do Bowmanville to Grand Bend four bikes in the trailer for under $50 in fuel. Bad part is truck will cost you to buy. Good part it holds its value better than a gas truck.

Or something like my Ranger... Bike in the bed and gear in the cab costs me $30 from Waterloo to GB and back.

Interesting options, thank you for replying.

Work is in construction industry, but I don't need to transport any tools or anything.
It's just health and safety inspecting, but with a big commute to various construction sites.

My 2 door, 2.5 VW Rabbit is not so fuel efficient, and the fuel is at my expense, it's also not comfortable at all. (What was I thinking getting a 2 door car?):confused:And after driving a friend's pick up, I realized I like the extra space.

I like recommended diesel options.
Also, trailer in a bag looks economical, but I might end up being too lazy/ not handy enough to assemble it. It would just sit there, and i would rent one of the u-haul trailers as recommended earlier.

had a 98 four banger s10 years ago...no thanks, full size all the way

I have a Harbour Freight foldable trailer, when i had my Maxima, towing the empty trailer, it was like it wasnt even there. Unless you utilize the bed all the time, why limit yourself to driving a pickup when towing a trailer for those few instances makes such a better choice.

My recommendation? VW Jetta Wagon with a hitch pulling a light weight class I trailer.
