Photography/wet darkroom

About film and digital: I get more satisfaction from the film process than the digital workflow. For me its not just all about the result/image.

It's like riding a motorcycle. A car will get you to where you want to go, usually more easily and more comfortably than a motorcycle, but the motorcycle journey is more fun.

Very well put.

Actually that's a real problem. I do construction site repairs and the right picture can really speed up the job. What I find is that because digital is so cheap (Free) the person takes dozens of shots at random figuring that by shotgun effect he will have everything. They usually don't.

When a person used film or Polaroid there was more of a tendency to take careful overlapping shots because they were costing a buck each.

Surprised you don't use video instead, pretty much every digicam has that feature.

Here are a few film pics of mine.

Can't believe that was done with an iPhone. Great colour and composition. What happened to the pic? I got the link in the email notification, but I don't see it now.

Want to see more.......:blob4:

Thanks! I moved it to its own thread called Yesterday's Sunrise was Awesome.

I am very impressed with the quality the iPhone (4s) is capable of. Just fine for Internet viewing and printing up to 5x7. As phone cameras get better, I see no reason for compact digital cameras.

Just thought I'd post in this thread for any film aficionados out there- I have a Nikon F100 film camera that I bought to rekindle my film passion. Turned out my appreciation lasted for only two rolls of film before resigning to go back to digital. I'm willing to let the body go now, but want to give it a good home. PM me if interested.

If you still have this camera, you could sell it on ebay for around $150.

Thats an awesome little set up man. I dont have the equipment to print but I've been developing my own B&W for just over a year now, then scan them onto my computer...Its been pretty fun and it gets me away from the computer for a bit and just in a zone, although I do love digital...but my hassy gives it a run for its money!

Been slacking on my flickr lately but if any are interested check out my stuff on instagram - zacmphoto

HELLBOY Im a canon shooter but I am interested in that F100.

Many people use this hybrid method of scanning film. You get to use classic film cameras, and enjoy the archival nature of film, as well as the ease/convenience of digital manipulation and printing.

I've been shooting film exclusively for 5 years, I have never printed. I'd be really interesting in learning Darkroom printing.

I have an F100 too along with a bunch of old medium format folding cameras. I have a dark room bag somewhere, haven't self-developed B&W in a while.

I have my film processed and scanned by TIW on Spadina.
