Pfaff Ducati in Vaughan?

I know GP is/has expanded the building towards the road but man I hope they're not biting off more than they can chew, especially on the service side.
indeed, hence my warning!

There is/was a planned service expansion, but that is not a go yet from what the employees were saying.

MV (they already have KTM and KTM is distributor of MV in NA so this adds up), Indian, BMW & Guzzi?
No Indian shown on their website yet.

let's see how this goes.

Ducati is cursed in this area. First it was Ride, and then Maranello. Neither lasted very long.

That would be a really odd mix of crowds if they put Ducati & HD under the same roof. Can't see it happening.
Pfaff is owned by a large American group now. They have plenty of money to make things happen, or fail lol.

Pfaff HD in Oakville came and left fairly quickly . No idea why , but it looked like a lot of money spent .

I am wondering how the service costs will be compared to say GP. Knowing they are affliated with the Porsche Dealership owner. It makes me think if they expect all their customers to be in the same financial mindset as a typical Porsche owner. Alot of the Ducati owners are not necessarily in the same bracket. We just like a typical model etc.
Its going to be interesting how this works out. I am wondering if its just an experiment like Maranellos was. Maybe they thought Ferrari, BMW owners also would be Ducati customers.

Slightly different there, but not much. Daddy owns the exotic car dealerships and the auto mall where the BMW store is now. The Ducati shop was a place for his kid to hang out and to store his Ferrari race cars.

Yes I do recall them telling me about how half of the shop area was for the race cars. I asked them why they switched the sides for the service area when it was Kahuna. Its like their service area was cut in half.
This is why I wonder if Pfaff will just be a repeat of Maranello. If its affliated with a car service - dealership facility.

This is anecdotal and a few years ago - GP charged premium rates for working on my Ducati at the time compared to other brands of bikes (e.g. Honda, Kawasaki, etc). Maranello had the same labour rate when they worked on my bike as well.

So my speculation is that another Ducati dealer will not likely charge tangibly more than others simply because it's a affiliated with Porsche.

It's Pfaff Audi. If you call, they already have their phones setup (1 for Ducati sales and 2 for Ducati Service).
It's a huge relief for me bc now I don't have to travel and hour and 30-40 mins to gets parts or service done.
They're putting hoist in this week. Should be up and running in a week or two.
Ride safe.
thanks for the confirmation!

Looks like the new Ducati dealership will not be called Pfaff Ducati:

Where did Lithia come from? I didn't know Pfaff was sold. Publicly traded and they have lots of dealerships left with original branding.

This is quickly going to be like telecom or funeral homes where you get to pick between New roads, Dilawri and Lithia even if you want another choice or think you are still supporting a family business that has been in your community for ages.

EDIT:
August 2021 Lithia started expansion into Canada with Pfaff. They now have 16 dealerships in GTA. $9B market cap.

Dilawri owns a couple of H-D dealers in Canada already I think.

At least Dilawri and NewRoads are branding the dealers so you know what you are getting (for better or for worse). Lithia is following the funeral home model and leaving the historic brand names while building immense power. People think there is market competition and hilariously threaten to go to a different dealer but surprise, that is the same owner and they dngaf.

Still lots of big groups in Canada, so total Monopoly still isn't on the horizon. I think Lithia is the 2nd biggest in the U.S, Weins group fairly big for Canada is owned by a Japanese group.

But the mom and pop's stores are almost extinct.
