I've seen a few posts about their bike nights but nothing about the store itself.

I was looking for something to do so went for a long drive to check out the store. I was interested in looking at John Doe and Merlin gear which I have never seen before.

I really liked the Doe stuff. I liked the moto shirt, which felt very comfortable. The armor is unbelievably thin - almost unnoticeable. It's hard to believe it's AAA. They also have a jacket that wouldn't be out of place walking around on the street. My only issues was that there is no reflective material whatsoever on either piece. Prices are very reasonable for the rated protection - the only AAA textile that I've seen at GP Bikes is $2100.

I was told they may be bringing in Pando Moto which I'm also really interested in checking out.

My son really liked the non-riding apparel they had as well.

It's a cool space, and the person working there was really friendly and helpful. Not the biggest inventory compared to GP, but a bunch of stuff that I haven't seen elsewhere. I would definitely try to find the time to make the haul out there again.

They have pretty good turns out for their Bike Nights. Some of the rides they ave on display in the store are cool.

Looks like you can watch the Qatar and Spanish MotoGP's there:

Yeah - they told me about that - they hold some events there. It's a cool idea. They have a very comfortable looking lounge-ish area so it would be a nice spot to hang out. They even had an ice-cream dipping cabinet, but there wasn't any ice cream when I looked. If it wasn't 2-h each way there - I'd check it out!

I bought a khaki John Doe Explorer jacket from FC-Moto a couple years ago, and it's become one of my favourite pieces of kit. Absolutely top quality, comfortable, and reasonably priced at around $500 CAD. Highly recommended, especially for gear that doesn't look ridiculous away from the bike. It's such a nice jacket that I often just wear it even when not riding.

Between them, RST, Held and IXS, there's some incredible European brands that barely get a sniff in here between the overpriced Dainese and boring Alpinestars. Of course, if the jacket was $500 at FC-Moto, it'd be about $1000 here after the distributors tacked on their markup...

That was the jacket I was checking out. That low profile armour makes it totally feasible. It's as comfortable as a regular jacket. It's only $559 at PCM.

It's too bad their stuff doesn't have any reflective material. I don't want to HAVE to wear a vest with it at night.

As I mentioned - the only textile AAA GP sells is the Badlands Pro AAA. It starts at $2100+, weighs about a million pounds, and would be out of place in just about any situation except for those for which it was specifically designed for.

Was talking to a guy from Big Dream Motorcycles at the CVMG meeting last week. He was at PCM for the debut of an indy film on a family of hill climbers. I'll have to check out the movie night action.
