They sure do, then ride them for a month and try to sell them on craigs list or other sites.

From the specs:

Max Speed: 65 mph (give or take 5mph.. lol)
Dry Weight: 304lbs
Max Weight: 400lbs

re max weight, does that count the bike?, meaning the rider has to be under 105lbs? lol

I never knew that budget no-name motorcycles like this existed. I think for someone with money to blow though a 250 would be ok for learning on and taking the course. Under 2 grand is certainly cheap! They look well built in the photos, just no power. The rebel 'inspired' 250 is actually pretty cool looking and has a top end of 75mph. They are not highway bikes but seems like they would be good for beginners just for street riding.

For under 2 grand, get a CBR 125. Also, i wonder how easily these can be insured...

I guess as a beginner/starter it would be OK for someone looking to get something bigger than a 125 (I had one and I loved my old CBR125R)...
However reading through it the bike comes about 80% complete and YOU as the buyer are responsible for finishing up the final 20%, and getting the bike PDI'd...this is all in the fineprint. You're also responsible for filling it with the required oils, and ensuring all bolts are tightened.
As for insurance...not sure how they're rated but if the insurance can't find it in their system, well you're SOL I guess, and the fact that it's not street legal/able to be registered in certain states (CA/NJ off the top of my head) is a red flag.

I've seen these before and considered getting one prior to the 125 but after doing some more research I found it's just not worth the hassle and went with a regularly registered/insured bike that's accepted here.

Oh yes, and I love the fact that they're not shy about stating where they get their styling from: Ninja styled...Ruckus styled...Rebel styled...

There's a much different mentality in the US/Canada. Ironically we pay a lot more for our "toys" and in most cases, use it a lot less....then talk about how something doesn't have enough speed, features, reliability, etc.
I bet in any other country (and I'm not just saying the streets of Jakarta), this would be a perfectly fine, generic bike. Nothing more, nothing less. And probably put to a lot more use than the $10000-20000 machines here.

I'd say its for a guy with money to burn and big peice of private to cruise around on.
At those huge car shows in the parking lot where they are camping for a few days I've seen the odd mini bike bombing around for ***** and giggles. Its just a fun toy for a dude w money.
the chopper looking bike is awesome! I'd buy it if i had the extra cash.

I dont think a beginer can go wrong for the price - provided you check first that you can get it insured etc.

I like how everything says regular price $4000-8000 and is on sale for under 2 grand. Amazing to think that there are people who would see that and think they are actually getting some sort of crazy deal.
