PD 13

I see more ssport bikes and adventure bike than your typical bagger last time i was there
Giant sea of HD with clones...
If you owned an electric vest (I do) it was a nice day for a ride though. Still fall color to be seen. Good thing because although there were alot of bikes I saw non of real interest to me. To be fair though, the town was effed up with no parking on the main dig. Just assorted side streets. That meant lots of hoofing to really check out bikes and I wasn't about to start searching haystacks.
FWIW I saw some support for the 81 but no full patches.

Any pics ?

They rent a big deck/parking lot/bbq right on the main drag every 13th, right beside the park. Great spot for the OPP to take the members yearly photo shoot from a distance with their zoom lens. Have seen it done on more than one occasion. At least 20-25 full member there today coming and going, and many support clubs. I had a quick burger and beer there hoping I wasn't in any photos 🫣

@ToSlow and @AllistonGT how was the RV show? Thinking of going tomorrow to see a trailer I'm interested in...dealer sent me two free e-tickets...
Went through it in about 90min. With retirement on the not too distant horizon and not willing to sleep on the ground in a tent after 35 years of doing so, we went to see possible options.
The cost of a Sprinter type camper van is crazy. I could buy a 20' Airstream and a suv to pull it and still have funds for gas.
$11 admission on Friday was worth it. Not sure if the $19 Saturday cost would be. Maybe.

I was towing for a few yrs, Only thing is when you're traveling and you go for day trip 100 miles out. you need to drive a 100miles back to the camper. Motorhome you just stop and you're already camping. I was thinking trading my class A in for a class B

I understand the advantages with a class B. Thats what we really would like to have. I'd go used though. The depreciation is large to say the least.

I got free tickets from the dealer that has the unit I'm interested in...I would love a class C, but we're still at least 5 years away from retirement so I'm thinking a travel trailer would be good for us until then...
Did you ever look at the B+? A little bigger than the B's. I was also looking at them last yr. Prices stupid through the roof on them

Yeah, too small for my liking plus I must have a full bathroom, and two separate sleeping spaces...
Way back when, I bought one of these 23A majestic that was a solid unit and would have no problem buying again if needed. My wife and i travel with from one end of the country to the other problem free. Great thing is you can buy in another province fly pick up and you're camping

We have a trailer and a B the b is awesome for road trips very rarely use a campground just stop and find a parking lot . Saves a lot of hassles.

Have a B here too. A 19" RoadTrek. The B is great because like TS says it's just one unit. You never have to reverse a trailer. We watch couples in the park almost come to blows getting them settled. Then they run around for 20 minutes jacking it up.
As long as were close to level or the the rear is up a bit we're good. Rarely do we get the levelling planks out.
Plus they are more stealth like than a towed rig.
We did NL for a month last year and boondocked all over. Pull in, turn on the propane, and draw the shades. We're done it's time for a beer.

These are a great deal we almost bought one a few years ago.

Ron, where did you go in NL?
We had 3 weeks on the rock so we pretty much went everywhere. To the north St Anthony, Twillingate, Fogo (and Moreton's Harbour** too). Then St John's, Cape Spear and a loop around the sothern end of the Avalon peninsula and back to Argentia.
We're real big fans of abandoned stuff so we hit up a bunch of the sites listed below including climbing the mountain to view the Burgoynes Cove B36 crash site, and checking out countless bunkers in Argentia - It was the biggest military base in North America during WW2.
Also drove the Roadtrek up a bunch of steep fog enshrouded gravel roads to see old radar sites. We were told that if you see a picnic table it's pretty much an invitation to stay the night. We boondocked all but about 6 nights.

If anyone is thinking about NL check out this site. Did most of them feel free to enquire.

** I see a sign Moreton's Harbour 1KM. To the Squeeze, "we gotta go so we can see all the places from the "I'se the by" song. One km later is the turn off and another sign "Moretons Harbour 9KM". It's 9 of the most washboarded klicks I've ever driven. The dishes are rattling.
When we get there we find that Moretons Harbour is like two run down houses and a broken warf.

Guess I just wasn't paying attention. There are a lot of wannbees who set themselves up with patches AND rockers that you know only do little more than timmy runs.

Agreed. I went once, back in 2013? Pirate tassels and saggy boobs.

Lots of drunk outlaw cosplayers.

Once was enough.

I've done it three times. First was rainy and a modest crowd. Second trip was cold and a modest crowd.

The third trip was in July with perfect weather. I was there early to beat the crowd. By 10:00 AM it was almost impossible to walk through the crowds. I left later in the morning passing a five mile long line up of bikes being toe walked.

If the weather is good arrive before 7:00 AM and park where your bike can't get blocked in.
