Parry sound and area.

If you’re in good health great. If you’re not…doctors, specialists, hospitals, and health care all is a much more taxing ordeal.

Nothing wrong with that ,,,Toronto sucks on so many levels....can't wait to get on the plane.
I'd look at the Kingston area as well....easy access to three major cities and a quick jump to the US. Not as bad for summer cottage traffic.

Finding a family doc is almost impossible. Locating close to a hospital makes sense. Some family moved to huntsville from richmond hill to retire 20 years ago. Still happy with their choice. Moving shortly to a condo near Huntsville to have less stairs and less maintenance.

I don't know if it is feasible but if I were you I would consider a condo to live in and a separate property/garage for toys. Keep the one you are riding at the condo but you have a nearby spot to store and/or fix them. If the snow is bad for a few weeks and you don't feel like clearing a driveway, no issues as the condo deals with that (and no stairs).

Have you thought about Peterborough or it's surrounding areas?

Far enough from the city to feel like you are in cottage country but close enough to the big T.O that you can be there in 1.5 hrs.

It has all the amenities of a big city. Stores, health care and great riding roads.

If it was up to me, I would be moving up there yesterday.

Peterborough has an disproportionate drug/homeless problem. There's that.

Worked in Midland (TRW) and lived in the harbour area for several years. The winters can be far more brutal than here. Especially close to the leeward side of the harbour(s). The locals in the touristy cottage areas Like Huntsville, Bracebridge, Parry Sound that have a lot of people that moved up there to their cottages are a bit more cosmopolitan, for lack of a better word. Get away from those areas (eg: Midland, Penetanguishene, Orillia, etc.) and it's a bit more Deliverance-ish. And the nearest "city" Barrie is, well, Barrie.

My gf likes the idea of Parry Sound because her daughter and family live 15 min from it. But that's also a sticky point, because daughter doesn't want anything to do with me.

Easy, stay home when your gf visits or go out when the daughter visits.

With that revelation, don’t ******* do it . Go to Owen sound or lions head

What's the attraction to Lion's Head?

I have been up there a few times at a rental cottage over the last 2-3 years. I don't really see anything that would attract me to move up there.
I least the scenery in Perry Sound is better than LH. I get that Tobermory is close but still.
Plus, there are no good riding roads up there.

She seems to know 'something'. I would be finding out what that is before even entertaining the idea of moving anywhere close to her.
Yes. That's a priority for me. I've only met her once. Last Christmas. B goes up to see her and grandkids a few times a year without me while i go make a few jumps.
Too much drama.

Sounds like moving closer to family, means more drama. I think if you are looking for more "quality" community. Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, or Huntsville would be better.

Port Sydney is nice and quiet, only 20 min from Huntsville and an hour from Perry Sound.
I have spent some time there at a relatives cottage and always found it nice. The public beach there is nice and even has a boat launch.
You can make it into downtown Huntsville by water also.

Regardless of where you move the GF's daughter will like you no more or less unless something is done to clear the air. If even possible?
Don't care to know the details, but allowing someone else's "feelings" to dictate where you want to live is foolish. Life is short do what you feel is best for you and the GF.
