I work downtown near bay and front and I was wondering if anyone has any idea of any places to park before 8 am? Perferably places that are within walking distance.

Anywhere where cars park and display the ticket is free parking for bikes.

Not sure if the area you're talking about has particular restrictions befor 8am, but I ride by bikes parked in that area every day when I'm leaving at 3:30.

Thanks jolo or the fast response, I guess I'm just special lol. My shift starts at 8 so I have to be on site for 0745 maybe I can get away with the 15 mins, if parking enforcement is nice.

;)

I don't get it, can you not park before 8am at the green P?

Lots of us park on Front infront of Brookfield place. There's also a bunch of side streets just E of Yonge that you'll find bikes ... just go for a walk at lunch.

I've parked there as early as 7:30 a few times...and I'm usually not the only one. Park with the others and you shouldn't have a problem.

Sounds good to me! Bikers unite!!!

When do we all get rings? And form a circle and raise our firsts in the sky ?! :laughing8:

The posted times are for when car drivers need to pay. You can park a bike there anytime. I've been there as late as 9 or 10 no problem and as early as 7 a.m. It's not a a rush hour tow away zone.

When I work the morning shift, I start work at 7 AM. I take the GO and when I walk in around 6:50 I still see around a lot of cars (maybe a few bikes) parked on Front. Am I at a huge risk of being knocked over if I park this early?

You should be ok as the place fills up. I take the extra effort to NOT park in front or behind a car. I'll often park so that another bike can park beside me, sort of reserving a spot or two - and I hope another bike parks beside me. It's a drag to be at the end of a row - that's where you get hit.

A good idea to fold in the mirrors too - folks walk between the bikes to cross Front and I've seen a purse and sachel strap catch a mirror.

Adam?

That's me.:p
Thanks for the tips. I'm hoping to ride in next week if it's warm enough. I hate taking the GO on such nice days.

Unfortunately because I'm on shift work, the only time I'm willing to ever ride in is on the day shift.

Sorry to revive an old thread but it's kinda the same topic - wondering if anyone knows if there's anywhere at all to park a bike past midnight downtown around Queen & University/Simcoe/John/Peter area. Or is every street parking till midnight and that's it? Working a shift that goes till 2am. Thanks in advance.
